ALBEDO - ITALY Acclara
Acclara is the answer to a simple question. How to reach absolute performance in a floor standing design with a cabinet size still suitable for a living room.
The cabinet of Acclara is made out of 40 and 50 mm multilayer wooden sandwich that combines high mass and optimal resonance absorbing behavior. Two solid and heavy metal plates, connected each other by steel threaded bars, model a really stiff cage for largest cabinet sides. Acclara tweeter and midrange are from most expensive and performing line of speaker units from German Accuton brand, the Cell Line.
Bass loading follows the classical Albedo tradition of transmission line design. In this case, two twin but separated Helmholine labyrinths are arranged in order to have a perfect symmetry of bass path for the woofers. Helmholine is an Albedo patented variation of transmission line design that uses internal Helmholtz resonators for acoustic filtering of system bass output. The result is a deep firm bass response, with controlled tonal color.
ACCLARA DIAMOND SGS
The ACCLARA model in DIAMOND version represents a new level of audio performance for a product that we believed was unbeatable.
The 25 mm Tweeter with a hard Diamond inverted dome ensures greater off-axis dispersion along with an unmatchable details levels and very ultra low distortion.
The hardest material in the world at the complete service of high-end audio, only to achieve sonic perfection. It seems like a dream but our ACCLARA DIAMOND SGS is likely to make it come true.
The precision and depth of the soundstage reach an incredible level of realism, where the dynamics and clarity of every sound detail of the original input signal are reproduced with incredible naturalness and smoothness.
"Silver, Gold and Supreme"
"Acclara Diamond SGS" now flaunts a new reference audio level.
The crossover now takes advantage of the indisputable quality of the best Mundorf components, such as "Silver Gold Supreme" capacitors, "Supreme resistors" and "Icore" inductors.
Our aim was to maximize the quality of those components with a crucial role in passing the audio signal and that could otherwise limit the performance of our drivers.
And it is for the same reason that we then decided that it was also necessary to select a new interior wiring of superior quality.
That's why our "Acclara Diamond SGS" can now also benefit from the reliability of Van den Hul's silver-plated cables.

Commanding low-end authority and presence, the Acclara couples a bold, extended bass foundation with airy, resolving top end for a remarkably coherent voice. Its twin mirrored transmission-line bass, triple 7\" woofers and diamond tweeter yield crisp detail, wide imaging and lively dynamics, a combination praised by Fidelity Magazine for immersive musicality.
Pros
- Deep, authoritative bass extension down to about 33 Hz from the twin mirrored transmission-line and three 7" woofers.
- Refined, natural midrange courtesy of the dedicated 5" ceramic mid driver that preserves timbre and presence.
- High-resolution, extended treble delivered by the 1" diamond tweeter that surfaces fine detail without harshness.
- Impeccable build and heavy-duty construction (40–50 mm sandwich cabinet, metal top/base and premium Mundorf crossover parts).
&
Cons
- Very high price (review notes pair price around €69,000 and places it well above €50,000), limiting accessibility for many buyers.
- Moderate sensitivity (86 dB) and 4 Ω nominal impedance mean it benefits from a powerful amplifier for best dynamics.
