Audiophile Directory LLC, doing business as HiFi Hub ("HiFi Hub", "we", "us", "our"), operates a discovery and data platform for the high-fidelity audio industry.

HiFi Hub helps users discover audio products, brands, dealers, and distributors, and provides visibility and analytics tools for industry participants.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when individuals interact with:

  • analytics, search, and platform services

1. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected from:

1.1 Visitors (B2C Users)

Individuals browsing HiFi Hub to explore products, brands, reviews, and dealers.

1.2 Merchant Customers (B2B)

Dealers, brands, and distributors who create accounts, manage dashboards, upload products, or access analytics.

1.3 Publicly Available Industry Sources

Brand and dealer websites used to maintain accurate industry listings.

1.4 Platform Systems

Including automated indexing, search systems, analytics tools, and machine-learning systems used to improve platform functionality.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites linked from HiFi Hub, including manufacturer, dealer, distributor, or media websites.

2. Roles Under Data Protection Laws

Depending on the context, HiFi Hub may act as either a Data Controller or Data Processor.

HiFi Hub as Data Controller

HiFi Hub acts as a controller when processing data related to:

  • platform analytics
  • search functionality and recommendations
  • merchant account creation
  • platform security and fraud prevention
  • marketing communications
  • publicly displayed listings

HiFi Hub as Data Processor

HiFi Hub may process certain data on behalf of merchants when they:

  • upload product or inventory data
  • submit media, events, or updates
  • manage business listings through their dashboard

These activities are governed by the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) included within our Terms of Service.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where European or UK data protection laws apply, HiFi Hub processes personal data under the following legal bases:

Legitimate Interest

To operate, maintain, and improve the HiFi Hub platform, including search relevance, analytics, fraud detection, and platform security.

Contractual Necessity

To create and manage merchant accounts, process subscriptions, and provide platform services.

Visitors may browse HiFi Hub without creating an account.

We do not collect personal identifiers such as name or email unless voluntarily provided.

HiFi Hub does not currently use retargeting or cross-site advertising trackers.

Product and Inventory Information

Merchants may upload or request ingestion of product information including:

  • model numbers
  • descriptions
  • specifications
  • images
  • pricing information
  • product status (new, used, demo)

Platform Analytics

Merchant dashboards may display aggregated information such as:

  • listing impressions
  • page views
  • product interest trends
  • geographic demand indicators

This information reflects platform-level trends and does not identify individual users.

Payment Information

Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
HiFi Hub does not store payment card information.

4.4 Publicly Available Industry Information

To maintain accurate listings, HiFi Hub may collect publicly available business information from brand or dealer websites such as:

  • product names
  • descriptions
  • publicly available images
  • dealer lists
  • publicly listed contact information

This information is collected under legitimate interest to maintain accurate, publicly accessible industry directories.
HiFi Hub does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of publicly sourced listings.
Merchants may request corrections or updates at any time.

5. Advertising

HiFi Hub may promote its services through advertising platforms such as social media networks or search engines.

These advertisements are typically interest-based ads shown to relevant audiences.

HiFi Hub does not currently use cross-site retargeting trackers that follow users across websites.

Advertising platforms may independently collect information according to their own privacy policies.

6. AI and Machine Learning

HiFi Hub may use machine-learning tools to:

  • improve search relevance
  • normalize product information
  • detect duplicate listings
  • analyze aggregated industry trends
  • improve geographic dealer matching

These systems operate on aggregated or non-identifiable data.
HiFi Hub does not use personal identifiers for model training.

HiFi Hub does not sell or rent personal information.

8. Data Retention

HiFi Hub retains information only as long as necessary for legitimate business purposes, in accordance with the following retention periods:

  • Merchant Data:
    • Active Accounts: Information is retained for the duration of the account’s active status.
    • Closed Accounts: Upon account closure, certain records are retained for 5 years (unless a different period is required by local law) to manage residual billing inquiries, legal compliance, and fraud prevention.
  • Legal & Financial Records:
    • All data related to financial transactions, tax obligations, and legal agreements is retained for a period of 7 years, following standard regulatory and accounting practices.
  • Visitor & Technical Data:
    • Analytics Logs: Information used to understand platform performance and user interest (including Google Analytics data) is retained for 24 months.
    • Security & Fraud Logs: Technical logs for security monitoring and fraud detection are retained for a limited period as necessary to ensure platform integrity.
  • Aggregated Data:
    • Fully anonymized and aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely to understand long-term platform trends and industry growth.

9. Security

HiFi Hub implements industry-standard security measures including:

  • encrypted connections (TLS)
  • secure hosting infrastructure
  • authentication and access controls
  • monitoring for suspicious activity

While we take reasonable steps to protect information, no system can guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

HiFi Hub operates primarily in the United States but may process information in other jurisdictions where service providers operate.

Where required by law, international transfers may rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other recognized safeguards.

HiFi Hub does not collect or process sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation, financial account details, or government identifiers) for the purpose of inferring characteristics about individuals.

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
