Sonus Faber Stradivari
An Iconic Legacy Redesigned
Designed in honor of Antonio Stradivari, the second generation of Stradivari is steeped in tradition - yet reinvented with modern innovation and elegance.
A FINE INSTRUMENT
The violins of Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari are universally celebrated as some of the finest ever crafted. Stradivari's commitment to precision, artistry, and innovation continue to be reflected in this new generation of the Stradivari loudspeaker.
Released twenty years after the original design to the HiFi world by storm, the evolution of Stradivari coincides with Sonus faber’s 40th anniversary, emphasizing our commitment to both honoring our roots and staying on the forefront of acoustical engineering.
DEDICATION TO PROGRESS AND INGENUITY
Stradivari takes inspiration from the Italian Renaissance violin making tradition. In the eighteenth century, advancements in violin making challenged classical rules by enlarging the instrument’s shape to create a unique tone.
Similarly, the reintroduction of the Stradivari speaker uses the latest advancement in audio technology to widen and enhance the soundstage. With cutting-edge engineering in low-frequency management, one of Stradivari’s most distinctive features is the ability to adjust the woofers to the size of the room, individually adapting pristine sound to every unique space.
TRADITIONAL DESIGN WITH A MODERN TOUCH
Stradivari maintains the legacy of meticulous woodworking and artisanship at the heart of every Sonus faber product. Seven layers of lacquer result in a rich red finish that covers the entire body of the Stradivari. The iconic front soundboard evokes the artistry of timeless wood-crafted musical instruments with modern influences woven in through interspersed aluminum architecture.
The design of the Stradivari maximizes the power of low frequencies with a unique design that expands the soundstage. Through careful simulations and adaptations run by our Research and Design team, the non-parallel walls within the acoustic chamber of the woofers prevent the formation of standing waves above the tuned frequencies. The result is the highest quality sound reproduction with our signature Natural Sound.
ICONIC SONUS FABER DESIGN
Stradivari G2 unites Sonus faber’s most iconic materials and finishes.
TRANSFORMATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN
The most detailed artisanship meets upgraded patented technology and iconic Sonus faber design queues om the latest generation of Stradivari.
INTONO TECHNOLOGY
Through an intensive study of the resonant cavities and the creation of a calibrated drilling of the midrange acoustic chamber, Intono technology guarantees the most natural reproduction of the medium frequencies. The energy of the air spring generated by the movement of the speaker is channeled and reduced by the Intono duct, significantly reducing the size and the filter components of the crossover.
CLEPSYDRA TECHNOLOGY
Stradivari's reflex system combines an innovative hourglass geometry for enhanced low-frequency performance with a compact duct length. Its downfiring design provides flexible placement options. Non-parallel walls in the woofer chamber eliminate unwanted standing waves, a result of meticulous engineering by the Sonus faber team to ensure top-tier sound quality.
LOW FREQUENCY ADJUSTER
Sonus faber's Low Frequency Adjuster system (LFA) provides precise control over ultra-low tuning and optimizes room response without compromise.
Inspired by the compensation of the resonance peak of the driver in the enclosure, the LFA is able to obtain an electrical damping of the low range without therefore introducing resistive elements in series with the signal.
On the board, a four-pin system is implemented: one common and three peripheral which are connected to the central unit with a jumper, where each of the three possible composition positions allows the user to set a different low frequency response.
WOOFER
The new dual gap woofer designed by Sonus faber guarantees symmetry of the motor force and minimizes distortions intrinsic to a conventional magnetic circuit design.
PHASE COHERENT IFF TOPOLOGY
Sonus faber's IFF topology and "Phase Coherent" philosophy provide an immersive, distortion-free listening experience. Components in the passive filter are expertly selected for pristine sound even at high volumes.

Stradivari delivers monumental, tunable bass via its Low Frequency Adjuster and Stealth Ultraflex port, paired with a lifelike natural midrange and refined treble for an expansive, detailed soundstage. Sonically it balances slam and finesse, with precise imaging and notable dynamics that reward high‑power amplifiers. Reviews from Audioholics and Positive Feedback praise its room‑adaptable bass, midband realism and flagship‑grade, handcrafted build.
Pros
- Adjustable low‑frequency system (LFA + Stealth Ultraflex) lets listeners tune bass extension and room response, delivering deep output to the mid‑20s Hz.
- Dedicated sealed midrange with Intono technology yields a natural, detailed midband and coherent vocal timbre.
- Flagship, instrument‑level construction (anti‑resonant woofer basket, high‑gloss wood and leather) and refined dispersion support exceptional imaging and low coloration.

Cons
- Extremely high flagship price positions it for a small, specialist audience rather than broad value buyers.
Sound Quality
95/100
Bass
96/100
Dual 260 mm woofers with the vented 'Stealth Ultraflex' system and a quoted 25 Hz extension give the Stradivari obvious low-frequency capability. The adjustable Low Frequency Adjuster and unique port geometry for reduced standing waves indicate both extension and room-tuning flexibility, supporting a reference-class bass performance.
Mid
95/100
Intono technology and a dedicated sealed midrange enclosure are described as delivering extremely natural midrange reproduction. Review emphasis on a lifelike midband and Sonus faber's traditional midrange focus supports a very high midscore.
Treble
94/100
The extended-range silk dome tweeter with a patented tripod structure is said to control dome oscillation and improve dispersion and high-frequency control, even at high volumes. That points to refined, well-dispersed treble with good extension and low harshness.
Soundstage Imaging
95/100
Reviewer language describes an 'unparalleled soundstage' and seamless blend of design and engineering, implying wide, deep staging and strong imaging. Sonus faber's focus on dispersion and cabinet geometry supports excellent imaging and layering.
Dynamics
94/100
92 dB sensitivity combined with a recommended 100–600 W amplifier range and driver/crossover design indicate strong macro- and micro-dynamic capability. The tweeter's control at high volumes and substantial cabinet/driver resources suggest robust slam and headroom.

Build Quality
97/100
Heavy, handcrafted cabinet work, anti-resonant woofer basket, high-gloss lacquer and leather trim are all highlighted; the Stradivari is presented as a flagship-quality, instrument-like build. Materials, finish and mechanical engineering are described at an exceptionally high level.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive tower baseline applied (4 binding posts for Mid-Hi and Low present). Although bi-amp/bi-wire terminals and decoupling spikes are noted, the passive baseline cap is enforced per feature rules.
Value for Money
70/100
Performance and finish are flagship-level but price is extremely high (MSRP cited at $50k/pair; product data shows ~€60k), limiting value for most buyers. Review praise is strong but does not characterize the Stradivari as a bargain compared with peers in lower price tiers.
