The Estelon XB Mk II shares its predecessor’s qualities of impeccable audio reproduction, along with the curved-sculptural styling that is tailored to excel in a smaller listening environment. It remains true to the X-Series’ expansive soundscape delivering a precise performance.
The upgraded XB Mk II sports a redesigned crossover network, along with new cabling, that assist in the refined balance, crystal-clear clarity, and the most accurate reproduction. The perfect speaker system for those seeking to experience thrilling sound throughout the whole frequency spectrum.

The 158mm (6.25”) mid-woofer has a ceramic membrane providing a very clean impulse response with very low total harmonic distortion (THD) and intermodulation distortion (IMD) products. Through continuous improvements and developments, the right amount of damping is used to maintain a linear frequency response.

The 25mm (1”) inverted dome alpha corundum tweeter is made by Accuton. Typical to high-quality hard domes, the impulse response is outstanding, the distortion is kept very low, and the first break-up modes are pushed out of the audible range.

The woofer works in a bass reflex chamber. The port is on the rear side of the cabinet eliminating the influences of the midrange frequencies.

The 220 mm (8.7”) ceramic sandwich woofer has been designed by Accuton engineers. It has an extremely stiff and lightweight membrane along with a very long linear excursion. It can reproduce a truly deep, accurate, and effortless bass. The combination of the cabinet design, construction, woofer and its positioning, crossover, and mating with the room acoustics and associated electronics has been said to sound like “live bass”, which is the result of meticulous engineering.

The speaker cabinet has no parallel walls. Most of the walls are curved so the standing waves in the cabinet are spread out, minimized in magnitude. In addition, the curved shape aid in rigidity. The combination of the heavy and rigid marble-based material, curved shapes and internal bracing, suppresses the cabinets’ inherent resonances to almost non-existent levels. The drivers have everything to support them to perform their absolute best.

The soft curves of the cabinet eliminate the effects of reflective diffraction from the drivers’ output, thus the directivity of the speaker is homogenous and wide.

Estelon XB — Sculptural speakers with surprising sub-bass and laser imaging

The Estelon XB marries gallery-ready design with high-end sonic performance. Its most striking quality is the combination of deep, controlled low end from a single 220mm Accuton woofer and an expansive, precise soundstage—qualities reviewers repeatedly singled out. The three-way, marble-based composite cabinet houses Accuton drivers and Kubala-Sosna internal wiring; the result is a quiet, detailed presentation with pinpoint imaging and emotive mids.

Soundwise the XB delivers weighty, clean bass that belies its single-woofer layout, a transparent midrange that puts vocals front-and-center, and a refined ceramic tweeter that offers clarity and extension (with a hint of lower-treble brightness noted by some). Dynamics are excellent—crescendos retain control and micro/macro detail remains articulate.

Build quality and finish are superb: heavy 69kg cabinets, automotive multi-layer paint and carefully chambered crossovers. These speakers reward serious electronics and careful setup—reviewers recommend powerful amplifiers to exploit the XB’s control and headroom. For audiophiles seeking a statement piece that performs as art, the Estelon XB is a compelling contender.

"I truly believe there’s huge value here, given their world-class sound and outrageous, provocative, seductive looks."

Pros

  • Deep, controlled bass from a single 220mm Accuton woofer that delivers sub-bass extension uncommon for a single‑woofer design.
  • Outstanding midrange clarity and vocal presence—reviewers highlight emotionally engaging, detailed vocals and a transparent midband.
  • Wide, deep soundstage with precise imaging—excellent separation and depth even on complex recordings.
  • Exceptional build and finish: patented marble-based composite cabinets, multi-layer automotive paint and carefully chambered crossover deliver low resonance and museum-quality looks.

Cons

  • Demands a powerful, well‑supplied amplifier for best results—Estelon recommends substantial power to exploit the speaker's headroom and control.
  • A touch of lower‑treble brightness was noted by at least one reviewer, which may need careful system matching and positioning.
  • Very high price puts it squarely in the ultra‑high‑end—excellent value within that bracket, but costly for most buyers.

Bass

95/100

Reviewers repeatedly praise unexpectedly deep, controlled sub-bass from the single 220mm woofer; Craig Joyce notes sub-bass performance 'uncommonly good for a single-woofer platform' and comparisons to large JBL K2s. Cabinet/port tuning and 75–80Hz cutoff help woofer assume sub role.

Mid

93/100

Multiple reviews highlight outstanding vocal clarity and emotional presence; midband described as 'particularly appealing' and 'clear and articulate' though one reviewer notes slight brightness in the lower treble region.

Treble

91/100

Accuton 25mm ceramic inverted dome tweeter with low distortion and breakup modes pushed out of audibility yields refined, detailed top end. A few listeners noticed a touch of lower-treble brightness, preventing a higher mark.

Soundstage Imaging

94/100

Consistently praised for wide, deep soundstage and precise imaging—reviews mention 'picture-perfect imaging', enveloping soundscapes, and strong depth (e.g., Jellyfish and Dylan tracks).

Dynamics

93/100

Reviewers report superb micro/macro dynamics and control during crescendos, maintaining integrity at high intensities; described as handling frantic crescendos and dynamic shifts very well.

Build Quality

95/100

High-end construction: patented marble-based composite cabinets, automotive multi-layer paint, heavy 69kg cabinets, Kubala-Sosna wiring and carefully chambered crossover. Multiple reviewers cite top-notch craftsmanship and resonance control.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive baseline applied. High-quality internal wiring and protected crossover chamber noted, but no bi-wire terminals or DSP — baseline passive score used.

Value for Money

82/100

Extremely expensive (~GBP £38.5k / USD $49–62k depending on source) yet several reviewers call it 'huge value' within its ultra-high-end bracket and urge auditioning—priced for wealthy buyers but seen as justifiable given performance and finish.
