Compact standmount that punches above its size, pairing an authoritative, detailed midrange with an ultra-fast Gen2 Folded Motion Tweeter for articulate, extended highs and lively dynamics. With careful stands and toe-in it delivers precise imaging and staging; the rear-ported cabinet gives tight, taut bass but demands open placement. Ken Kessler and Audiophilepure praise its analytical, engaging character.
Pros
- Authoritative, natural-sounding midrange that renders vocals and acoustic instruments with convincing realism.
- Ultra-fast, extended treble and excellent transient detail thanks to the Gen2 Folded Motion tweeter.
- Open, precise imaging and soundstaging when placed on suitable stands and toe-in is optimised.
&
Cons
- Rear-ported cabinet is placement-sensitive; bass can boom or lose solidity close to a back wall.
- Treble leans a little forward/bright for some tastes, so pairing and room placement matter.

Bass
85/100
5.5" woofer with rear port yields tight, well-controlled bass that is 'dry and taut' though not abundant. Reviewers note rear-ported placement sensitivity (back-wall boom) but also call the speakers engaging for their diminutive size, supporting a strong bass-for-size rating with a ported +1 and placement -1 adjustment.
Mid
92/100
Multiple reviews praise vocal authenticity and natural midband ('Nash's voice sounded so natural', 'midband is that authentic'). Midrange is authoritative and detailed, making vocals and acoustic instruments particularly convincing.
Treble
90/100
Gen2 Folded Motion tweeter is described as ultra-fast, extended and lively; reviewers mention forwardness/brightness but also excellent detail and transient speed. Treble is highly resolving though slightly forward in presentation.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
Reviewers consistently note an open, precise soundstage ('an open window', 'sensation of space so precise'); imaging improves with toe-in and stand placement, delivering exceptional spatial cues when positioned properly.
Dynamics
90/100
Speakers preserve transients and punch ('no damage was inflicted on the transients', 'boogied from track-to-track'), offering lively micro- and macro-dynamics for the form factor with good amplifier headroom (20–200 W recommended).

Build Quality
88/100
Solidly made with signature sloped top, gloss/wood/satin finishes and non-resonant asymmetrical chamber format for the mid driver. Binding posts are high-quality multi-way posts; overall fit and finish are premium for the price tier.
Features Connectivity
82/100
Passive bookshelf baseline applied (80) plus custom 5-way binding posts supporting bananas/bare wire (+2). No DSP/streaming expected or penalized; score kept within passive hard bounds.
Value for Money
82/100
At the listed price (~$650) reviewers call it competitive but note a tough segment with peers like KEF LS50 Meta and PMC prodigy1. Praised as an engaging, analytical speaker and a shortlist candidate for those seeking performance in this price band.
