Unlike many companies that produce truly wireless headphones, Audio-Technica places an emphasis on sound quality, not just convenience. The ATH-CKS50TW earphones are no exception. Featuring specially designed 9 mm drivers, these earbuds deliver clear, full-range audio with deep, powerful bass – low frequency is enhanced by acoustic ducts on the back of the drivers.
But while exceptional sound quality may be at their core, we certainly don’t skimp on the convenience, either. For starters, the ATH-CKS50TW earbuds provide best-in-class battery life, with up to 20 hours of continuous use on a full charge. There’s also a fast-charge option that gives you roughly 90 minutes of use from a quick, 10-minute charge. The sidetone function of the CKS50TW also allows you to hear your own voice during calls for more natural-sounding conversations, feeling almost as if you weren’t wearing headphones at all.
Built-in button design for on-the-go operationAudio-Technica’s ATH-CKS50TW wireless earbuds are designed for reliable, stress-free operation for a more enjoyable truly wireless listening experience. The left button adjusts the volume and switches between hear-through and noise-cancelling functions, while the right button lets you easily start/stop playback, skip between songs, or enable quick hear-through.
Rain and splash-proof design
The CKS50TW wireless earbuds boast an IPX4*-equivalent JIS protection rating. The splash-proof design means you never have to worry about keeping your truly wireless earbuds dry in sudden rain showers or when exercising.
*An IPX4-equivalent rating signifies the product will not be adversely affected by water splashing from any direction. This rating does not ensure protection in hot and humid locations such as baths and showers. The product is not completely waterproof.

Deep-reaching sub-bass, clean natural vocals and a smooth, fatigue-free top end give the ATH-CKS50TW an unusually composed true-wireless sound. StereoNET United Kingdom also highlights exceptional battery endurance, useful app-based 5-band EQ, aptX support and IPX4 protection—an easygoing, feature-rich pick for long commutes and everyday listening.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Mature, well-rounded tuning combines deep, satisfying sub-bass with clean, natural vocals and low sibilance.
Outstanding battery performance: the reviewer charged the earbuds only once during weeks of testing.
Strong everyday feature set includes a 5-band app EQ, aptX support, low-latency mode and IPX4 water resistance.
&
Cons
The charging case is exceptionally large and awkward for slim pockets.
Noise cancelling is capable for the price but falls short of stronger premium ANC alternatives.
The deliberately soft treble may feel too restrained for listeners seeking sparkle and bite.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 89/100
The ATH-CKS50TW is described as mature, composed and well-rounded rather than aggressively tuned. Its strongest documented qualities are low-reaching bass and natural, clean vocals; the main trade-off is a deliberately smooth treble balance that favors comfort over bite.
Bass
92/100
StereoNET found that the 9 mm driver reaches convincingly low, with satisfactory rumble for deep bass hits. The review also characterizes the overall presentation as controlled and poised rather than bloated.
Midrange
91/100
The midband is described as even, refined and natural. Vocals are said to have clean, natural timbre without honkiness, veiling, or offensive sibilance.
Treble
86/100
Treble is intentionally safe and soft, avoiding sharpness or excessive bite. This should suit listeners who prioritize long-session ease, although those seeking a more brilliant or incisive top end may want more energy.
Resolution Separation
88/100
The review calls the sound mature, collected and poised, and says it punches above its weight sonically. It provides little direct discussion of microdetail or dense-mix separation, so the extent of its technical advantage is less clearly documented.
Soundstage Imaging
87/100
The supplied review does not closely examine stage size, depth, or positional imaging. Its praise for the composed, well-rounded presentation suggests no obvious spatial shortcoming, but buyers seeking a specifically expansive presentation should look for further listening impressions.
Dynamics Coherence
87/100
Deep bass punches are reported to carry satisfying rumble, while the overall tuning is described as mature and collected. The review says little about large-scale dynamic swings or transient speed, but does not identify any incoherence or congestion.
FIT COMFORT ISOLATION PERFORMANCE 86/100
Noise cancelling is described as ample for this price level. The review offers little direct information on long-term comfort or how consistently different ears achieve a seal, so prospective buyers should still consider the usual true-wireless fit variability.
Seal Stability
85/100
The review does not report recurring seal loss, bass changes from fit, or instability during use. It also does not provide detailed fit testing across ear shapes, leaving real-world seal consistency only lightly documented.
Comfort
85/100
There are no reported pressure points or fatigue complaints in the supplied review. Long-session comfort and shell ergonomics are not discussed in depth, so individual ear anatomy remains an important consideration.
Isolation
88/100
Noise cancelling is described as ample for a product at this price. That points to useful everyday attenuation, although the review does not quantify passive isolation or compare its ANC directly with premium true-wireless competitors.

Build Accessories
89/100
The earbuds carry an IPX4 rating, and the reviewer says they appear likely to be robust in a drop. Ownership features are strong for the class, including a 5-band app EQ, four supplied tip sizes, aptX Adaptive support, and notably long claimed battery life of up to 20 hours per charge without ANC or around 15 hours with ANC.
Value for Money
92/100
At approximately $171, StereoNET calls the price a bargain and says the sound punches above its weight. The review recommends an audition for budget-minded true-wireless shoppers provided its noted issues are not deal-breakers.
