Value for Money
85/100
The ATH-G1 delivers punchy, cinematic bass that brings explosions and action games to life without clouding clear voices, treble, or satisfying detail. El Jefe Reviews also highlights its excellent noise-rejecting microphone, lightweight long-session comfort, and dynamic sound—making it a compelling wired headset for gaming, movies, music, and streaming.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Bass-forward, dynamic tuning adds impact to explosions, action games, and movies while preserving mids and treble.
Clear voices, good treble, and solid detail keep the energetic sound from becoming muddy.
Detachable boom microphone delivers strong voice quality and rejects background noise effectively.
Lightweight, well-padded, ventilated design was reported comfortable for extended gaming and movie sessions.
&
Cons
Fixed headphone cable cannot be replaced or swapped for a different length.
Ventilated earcups reduce passive noise isolation in noisy environments.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 85/100
The available review finds the ATH-G1 lively and enjoyable, with a deliberately bass-boosted, non-neutral tuning aimed at games, films and action-heavy entertainment. It retains clear voices, respectable treble and good detail according to that reviewer, though spatial performance is not discussed.
Bass
89/100
The reviewer describes a bass-boosted presentation that is particularly effective for explosions, action games and movies. Crucially, they say the low end does not roll over the midrange or treble, suggesting energetic bass without obvious muddiness.
Midrange
85/100
The review specifically says the elevated bass does not overwhelm the mids, while voices remain clear. There is no deeper discussion of vocal timbre or acoustic-instrument realism.
Treble
86/100
Treble is described as good and present despite the headset's bass-forward balance. The reviewer reports clear voices and no suggestion that the top end is buried by the low frequencies.
Resolution Detail
85/100
The reviewer says the ATH-G1 still offers good detail and sounds very good with music as long as the listener accepts its bass-boosted voicing. Fine-detail retrieval, separation and layering are not explored in depth.
Soundstage Imaging
75/100
The available review does not meaningfully describe soundstage width, positional accuracy or image placement. Its performance in competitive spatial gaming is therefore unclear from the supplied evidence.
Dynamics
87/100
The headset is explicitly characterized as dynamic, and its boosted bass is said to add excitement to explosions and action content. The review gives little detail on subtle dynamic shifts or transient precision.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Comfort Fit
75/100
The supplied review does not address clamp force, pad comfort, heat buildup or long-session wearability. The listed weight alone does not reveal how the headset feels in use.
Build Quality
75/100
The available review provides no direct assessment of materials, hinges, cable durability or long-term construction. Reviewers say little about build quality.
Features Usability
83/100
The ATH-G1 includes a detachable microphone, a long 3.5 mm cable, a Y-adapter and a windscreen, which cover the practical basics for gaming and PC use. The supplied review does not assess the microphone's voice quality, cable handling or day-to-day control ergonomics.
Value for Money
85/100
At its listed $219 price, the available review is strongly positive about the sound but does not directly compare the ATH-G1 with competing gaming headsets or judge whether the price is especially compelling. There is no clear reviewer verdict on value for money.
