OEM DAC BOARD

D/A converter board for high-end designs

Add Weiss digital-to-analogue conversion quality to your brand’s designs. The DAC301 is a compact stereo D/A converter board that offers immaculate performance.

STELLAR CONVERSION

The DAC301 is based on the excellent ESS ES9018 eight-channel D/A Converter chip. We use four parallel DAC channels per audio channel to achieve the DAC301’s stellar signal-to-noise ratio.

The board has both balanced and unbalanced analogue audio outputs, which can be used simultaneously. It has a powerful de-jittering mechanism and locally regulated power supplies.

OUTPUT LEVEL CONTROL

The analogue output level is controlled via relays and can be set to four different levels. In addition, the output level can be finely controlled using the digital level control available in the ES9018 chip.

inputs and outputs

The digital audio input signals, power supplies, relay controls, ES9018 controls, and the master clock are available on a 34-pin header connector. The input signals are fed in a balanced I2S format with LVDS-type voltage levels.

The ES9018 can be controlled via an I2C signal, which must be applied externally, typically via a small microprocessor. It is also possible to feed an S/PDIF or AES/EBU formatted signal instead of the I2S signals.
