DIGITAL AND ANALOG CABLES FOR HIGH-END SYSTEMS

No chain is stronger than its weakest link. That is why Weiss Engineering created the CHIRON series of cables. The series includes six cables that cover all needs for digital and analog interconnections in a high-end system, and with technical properties that match the standards of all our audio equipment.

CHIRON-DIGITAL1

CHIRON-Digital1 is an AES/EBU interconnect for 110 Ω balanced XLR connections. This is a Shielded Star-Quad cable.

CHIRON-DIGITAL2

CHIRON-Digital2 is an S/PDIF interconnect for 75 Ω single-ended connections using RCA connectors. This is a coaxial (shielded) cable.

CHIRON-ANALOG1

CHIRON-Analog1 is an interconnect for balanced analog connections with XLR connectors. Shielded Star-Quad cables are used.

CHIRON-ANALOG2

CHIRON-Analog2 is an interconnect for analog connections with RCA connectors. The cable is shielded.

CHIRON-ADAPTER1

CHIRON-Adapter1 interconnects dual RCA plugs to a 6.3 mm headphone jack socket. The cable is shielded and 68 cm in length.

chiron-speaker1

CHIRON-Speaker1 is a speaker interconnect with open strands, spades, or banana connectors. Star-Quad cables are used.
Pair cross-section: 4.3 mm2

CHIRON-ADAPTER2

CHIRON-Adapter2 interconnects dual XLR plugs to a 4-pin XLR socket. The cable is shielded and 68 cm in length.

chiron-glass1

CHIRON-Glass1 is a glass fiber cable for AES/EBU or S/PDIF signals. Standard lengths are 1, 2, 3, 5, and 10 meters. Other lengths are available upon request.

The CHIRON–Glass1 consists of the following components:

  • A receiver circuitry for AES/EBU or S/PDIF signals connected via XLR, RCA, or BNC connectors with an associated driver to drive the optical transmitter.
  • The optical cable in 62.5/125 µm technology with ST type connectors.
  • An optical receiver circuitry with an associated driver circuit to drive AES/EBU or S/PDIF signals on XLR, RCA, or BNC connectors.
  • Two high-efficiency power supplies to power the transmitter and receiver modules separately.
  • The electrical connectors can be specified for receiver/transmitter independently. XLR, RCA, or BNC connectors are available.
