Value for Money

85/100

The VPI Player delivers tonally balanced, deeply layered vinyl playback with precise imaging, lively attack and satisfying rhythmic punch. AVComfort highlights its immersive, concert-like soundstage, while the integrated MM phono stage and headphone amplifier make this a remarkably self-contained high-end front end. Handsome resonance-conscious construction and easy setup complete an exceptionally polished package.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"он реально погружает в атмосферу концерта и пластинки дает почувствовать концертный зал и его рамки"

— AVComfort

Pros

Honest, even-toned sound with strong detail, deep soundstage layering, precise instrument placement and convincing punch.

Integrated MM phono stage and headphone amplifier create an unusually complete, uncluttered vinyl system.

Straightforward out-of-box setup with a pre-installed, adjusted Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.

Substantial 32mm non-resonant MDF plinth and compliant feet are designed to control unwanted resonance.

Cons

Bypassing the internal phono stage requires removing the chassis, and doing so also disables the headphone amplifier.

A dust cover is not included.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 88/100

The available review finds the Player highly engaging and unusually complete as a musical package, praising its even tonal balance, strong detail, convincing depth and placement within the soundstage, and lively rhythmic impact. Direct listening evidence on pitch consistency, arm tracking and isolation is thinner, but the review reports no audible shortcomings in those areas.

Overall Sound

94/100

AVComfort praises an honest, tonally even and uncoloured presentation that suits any musical style. It also hears strong detail, fast attacks and satisfying punch, alongside a deeply layered soundstage with precisely placed instruments and vocals; the reviewer says it convincingly recreates a concert-hall atmosphere.

Speed Stability

84/100

The reviewer describes the technical side as being in very good order and notes quick attack on percussion, which supports a confident sense of timing. There is no direct discussion of measured wow and flutter, long-term speed drift, or pitch stability across an entire side.

Tonearm Performance

86/100

The supplied 9-inch VPI tonearm uses a stainless-steel tube, with attention reportedly paid to damping and to specially insulated, braided copper wiring. The review does not directly assess bearing behavior, tracking security or adjustment range, but the arm is presented as a carefully executed part of the package.

Noise Isolation

85/100

The 32mm non-resonant MDF plinth and four dense elastic feet are designed to absorb unwanted resonances. The review gives no direct listening assessment of rumble, motor noise, acoustic feedback or footfall sensitivity, though it does not identify audible noise as a concern.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

90/100

The Player is built around a substantial 32mm non-resonant MDF plinth and compliant feet intended to control resonance. AVComfort also highlights the quality of the supplied components, while the stainless-steel, damped arm tube and protected braided wiring suggest thoughtful execution rather than a stripped-down package.

Features Usability

93/100

AVComfort calls the Player simple to use while supplying unusually useful onboard facilities for this class: an integrated MM phono stage and headphone amplifier. The reviewer considers the latter especially welcome, noting that headphone amplification is uncommon on turntables of this type.

Value for Money

85/100

The review lists a price of 189,000 rubles, while the supplied product data places it at $2,200. Although AVComfort is enthusiastic about the sound, included phono stage and headphone amplifier, it does not directly compare value against competing turntables at this price.
