What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 87/100
The available review finds a musically engaging, neutral and accurate presentation, with strong bass weight, expressive mids and detailed treble. It also praises the deck-and-arm combination's cartridge transparency and lifelike, precisely organized imaging, while offering little direct comment on measured or long-term speed consistency.
Overall Sound
92/100
Hifitest describes punchy, surprisingly deep bass, precise and detail-rich treble, and an expressive midrange. The reviewer hears a pleasing balance of neutrality and accuracy with an enduring sense of musical enjoyment, alongside spacious and lifelike imaging with the Ortofon Zephyr C200.
Speed Stability
78/100
The review identifies a 24-volt synchronous motor and belt drive, but does not report pitch accuracy, speed drift, wow and flutter, or listening impressions specifically tied to timing stability. There is no indication of a speed problem, but direct evidence is limited.
Tonearm Performance
90/100
The TT5 clearly reveals the audible differences among several cartridges, which the reviewer takes as evidence of the turntable-and-tonearm combination's high underlying quality. That transparency also supports the review's praise for stable placement of musicians across a wide, deep soundstage.
Noise Isolation
88/100
The motor is decoupled from the plinth and drives the sub-platter by rubber belt to keep vibration away from the platter. Substantial soft feet are said to dissipate vibration effectively, and the reviewer reports that airborne disturbance is not a concern.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
The TT5 uses a machined aluminium sub-platter, an 11mm acrylic platter, and a steel spindle running on a ceramic ball in a brass bushing. Motor decoupling and substantial soft feet show considered attention to vibration control, though the dust-cover hinges are described as somewhat plain.
Features Usability
81/100
The included dust cover is a practical ownership benefit, and the deck's cartridge-revealing nature should reward careful system matching. The review provides little information about speed switching, adjustment facilities, setup procedure, automation, or connectivity.
Value for Money
87/100
Hifitest calls the TT5 an excellent, good-value turntable and says it opens the door to high-quality music reproduction at its cited €699 price. The supplied current price range is substantially higher, at roughly 1,500–1,706, and the review does not compare it directly with rivals at that level.

Manufacturer's Description — Edwards Audio
The Edwards Audio TT5 turntable builds on the success of our original TT4 turntable – the prestigious German LP Magazine having awarded it their ‘Product of the Year’ for 2021.
As with all our Edwards Audio products, the TT5 turntable is proudly designed, manufactured and hand built in our new Royal Wootton Bassett factory in Wiltshire UK. Not only does our TT5 turntable make a stylish statement, it combines advances in material technology and manufacturing techniques that uphold our reputation for excellence in musicality and performance.
Most notably, the Edwards Audio TT5 turntable features an additional sandwich to the constrained layer damping technology as used in our TT4 turntable – a technology that is typically associated with the aerospace industry to dissipate fractional vibrations and noise.
This innovation has been further harnessed in the design of the TT5 turntable and as such, delivers stunning sound quality for an affordable price.
As with all Edwards Audio turntables, the TT5 features our TALK custom 24V motor and our in-house designed TALK A5 captive uni-pivot tonearm with VTA adjustment.
The TALK A5 tonearm also features a 12mm pultruded carbon fibre armtube which is terminated with a fully machined red anodised headshell mount.
It is supplied as standard with our external SC5 DSP based speed controller, this allows easy speed change plus micro adjustment of the actual rotational speed of the turntable, this allows for the pitch to be corrected where needed, this not only allows for those blessed with perfect pitch but also improves sound quality due to the more stable frequency generated.
The TT5 turntable is available in the following colours: Black, Grey, Red, White, Green and Blue.
