What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Natural, clean and vividly delineated sound presentation.
Four-band tone controls allow meaningful tailoring for speakers, rooms and recordings without an audible loss of clarity.
Tone-control bypass makes before-and-after comparisons straightforward.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 84/100
The available listening report describes a natural, very clean and vividly delineated presentation. Its standout appeal is the ability to tailor tonal balance with the four-band controls without the reviewer hearing an accompanying loss of sound quality.
Transparency Resolution
90/100
Soundtec reports that the C-2300's tone controls can be used without audible degradation, calling this quality striking and satisfying. The presentation was also described as clean, clear and high in perceived freshness.
Tonal Balance Musicality
91/100
The reviewer characterises the sound as natural and beautiful, with instruments or programme elements reproduced clearly. The four-band tone section allows useful adjustment to personal taste while retaining an agreeable overall character.
Dynamics
78/100
The review conveys a lively sense of clarity, but offers little direct discussion of macro impact, transient attack or low-level dynamic gradation. There is no specific evidence here about how the C-2300 handles demanding dynamic swings.
Soundstage Imaging
78/100
The reviewer notes clear reproduction, but does not specifically assess stage width, depth, image focus or layering. Spatial performance is therefore only lightly documented in the available coverage.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
80/100
The available review focuses on operation and listening rather than chassis construction, controls, internal layout or long-term durability. It does, however, present the tone-control on/off comparison as straightforward to use.
Features Connectivity
82/100
The defining feature discussed is a four-band tone-control system, allowing listeners to adjust the presentation to suit their preferences. A dedicated on/off switch makes comparison easy; the review provides little detail on the wider input, output and control provision.
Value for Money
85/100
At roughly $11,490 to $14,975, the C-2300 occupies a premium preamplifier segment. The review is enthusiastic about its clean sound and unusually transparent tone shaping, but does not directly compare its value with competing models at this price.
