A35.2 is a powerful balanced input stereo amplifier, utilising our UFPD 2 amplficiation technology to deliver 200 watt of power per channel in stereo and 800 watts of power in bridged mono mode.

Technology

A35.2 is the most powerful amplifier we have designed using our new proprietary UFPD 2 analog class D amplification technology.

In fact, a completely new UFPD 2 power module was designed to provide the power and performance we felt necessary for such a statement stereo amplifier.

As a result, a completely new power supply, with custom wound transformers, was designed to deliver the immense electrical power needed for the amplifier module to produce the immense amount of musical power of which it is capable.

With that essential circuitry in place, A35.2 is capable of providing immediate and sustained high power output with very low distortion, instantaneous rise time and absolutely linear amplification across the entire bandwidth resulting in a naturally fast, clean and agile sound over an ultra-wide frequency range and with exceptional headroom.

A35.2 features balanced inputs and 200 watts of output power into 8 ohms, with the ability to be bridged to mono for 800 watts of output into 8 ohms. With this level of truly massive power output, A35.2 is capable of driving even the most demanding stereo speakers, or for an awesomely powerful multi-channel system array.

The look and feel of Scandinavia

We believe that every aspect of our products – the way they look, the satisfying feel of the controls – contributes to the overall experience of living with Primare. As a result, Primare products exude the hallmarks of Scandinavian design – simple, elegant designs, with approachable and easy to understand functionality.

An example of this is the standby button discretely placed within the Primare logo on the faceplate of our R15, R35 and A35.2 models – or as we say lagom, not too much not too little, everything in balance, proportion, and harmony.

Primare A35.2 — refined power for demanding systems

The Primare A35.2 pairs muscular output with a polished, detailed presentation that belies its compact footprint. Featuring Primare's UFPD2 topology and rated at 2 x 200W (8 ohm) / 2 x 400W (4 ohm), the A35.2 delivers confident dynamics and room-filling authority while retaining clarity and a refined treble. Audiophilepure highlighted its engaging, high-toned manners and premium industrial design; the chassis, choice of black or titanium finishes, and comprehensive I/O (balanced XLR, RCA, 12V triggers, RS232) underscore its build quality. Imaging is stable and coherent, making this amp well suited to demanding loudspeakers and listeners seeking both power and finesse. For systems that need a transparent, dynamic power stage with articulate top-end detail, the A35.2 is a compelling pick.

Audiophilepure

"the Primare amplifier looked expensive and sounded ooh la la! with the unopened bottle sitting next to it."

Pros

  • Powerful, controlled output with strong dynamics and headroom (2 x 200W/8Ω) — delivers authoritative, engaging drive.
  • Transparent, refined top-end and clear midrange that preserves detail and musicality, giving recordings a lively, articulate presentation.
  • Premium industrial build and finishes with comprehensive connectivity (XLR/RCA, 12V triggers, RS232) that complements its sonic poise.

Dynamics

87/100

Reviewers describe the A35.2 as lively and engaging with a confident delivery (e.g. 'can dance the latest dance'), suggesting strong transient response and authority for its class. The amp's UFPD2 topology and 2 x 200W/8Ω (2 x 400W/4Ω) rating position it in the 100–250W Class D band, where an energetic, controlled presentation is expected; the review's positive language supports an above-typical dynamics score. No reviewer reported loss of control or limited headroom, so no downward adjustments were applied.

Soundstage Imaging

86/100

Although the review contains limited specific spatial commentary, the positive descriptors about musicality and high-frequency refinement imply stable imaging and a coherent soundstage. The A35.2's stereo design and UFPD2 output stage typically support solid channel separation, so a slightly-above-baseline score is given. No reviewers reported imaging collapse under load, so no penalty applied.

Build Quality

88/100

The reviewer explicitly notes the unit 'looked expensive', and Primare's specification (substantial chassis dimensions and finishes in black or titanium) supports a perception of solid industrial design. The A35.2's reasonable weight (11.7 kg) and robust feature set (XLR/RCA inputs, 12V trigger, RS232) align with well-engineered thermal and power-supply design for its class. No thermal or reliability issues are reported; build is therefore rated strongly.

Value for Money

86/100

No explicit value judgments appear in the single provided review, so a neutral baseline is appropriate. The amp delivers 2 x 200W into 8Ω (2 x 400W into 4Ω) and is priced in the $3,200–$3,999 band; relative to other 2x200W-class stereo power amplifiers from established brands in the $3k–$4k segment, reviewers found the A35.2 sonically and physically impressive, which supports a neutral-to-favorable value assessment. Given the absence of explicit pricing praise or criticism in the review, the score remains at the neutral baseline range.
