The GD-02 is a brand new high-performance DAC and headphone amplifier all-in-one developed by GOLDENWAVE, meticulously designed for simpler operation, more complete functional interfaces, and a higher performance experience.

Fully Balanced Pure Class A Amplification Circuit Design

GOLDENWAVE has designed a new optimized discrete component pure Class A fully balanced headphone driver module OB-1 for the GD-02.

Four completely identical independent amplification units provide fully balanced drive for headphones. The current and gain distribution at each stage of the amplifier have been optimized, resulting in extremely low output impedance, high driving capability, and dynamic range, ensuring excellent driving ability for headphones of various impedances.

The analog amplification section of the GD-02's built-in DAC uses a complex circuit design without compromise, striving to achieve large dynamics while retaining sufficient musical emotion, fully reproducing the grand musical structure and details.

High-Specification Chips

Parameters are not everything, but they are the foundation of everything.

The decoding chip uses ESS's flagship ES9038PRO, supporting ultra-high sample rates, high signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range, and extremely low distortion characteristics. GOLDENWAVE has made targeted overall optimization in design to fully unleash the excellent performance of the ES9038PRO.

The GD-02 uses XMOS's new XU208 as the USB interface, supplemented by a specially designed clock processing system, providing extremely low noise and high precision clock signals.

A robust, stable, and pure power supply is the foundation of all amplifiers. The GD-02 features a custom-made low-noise, low-interference toroidal transformer with imported iron core. Each circuit stage provides independent low-noise regulated power supply. The digital section even uses completely independent winding power supply and multi-stage regulation, striving to reproduce every subtle musical detail.

The GD-02 continues the mature and stable relay-switched resistor network from the GD-01 for pure analog volume control, and has been specifically optimized for linearity in the low volume range, providing a smoother adjustment experience when driving low-impedance, high-sensitivity headphones, and greatly ensuring the adjustment precision of the left and right channels.

If it's not hot, it's not Class A.

Pure Class A amplifiers are known for their warm and delicate sound. The GD-02 uses four completely independent pure Class A headphone amplifiers, which generate a certain amount of heat. Therefore, the heating units conduct heat to the aluminum casing through thermal conductive materials, ensuring long-term stable operation and extending the lifespan of the components.

Rich Interfaces

Suitable for various application scenarios

The GD-02 has 2 headphone outputs, which can drive 2 headphones simultaneously.

The GD-02 provides rich input and output interfaces, allowing convenient connection to various digital devices such as computers and players, and all input interfaces support DSD playback; it can simultaneously connect to backend devices such as headphone amplifiers and active speakers.

Exquisite Body

The GD-02 continues goldenwave's classic volume knob design. The overall appearance is simple yet exquisite, with a textured panel where no screws are visible from the front, providing a good tactile and visual experience. The components are rationally arranged for ease of use.

Selection of High-Quality Components

Custom-made imported iron core low-noise toroidal transformers, original imported ICs, high-precision resistors, thickened copper foil PCBs, NEUTRIK connectors, and other high-quality parts ensure the machine's long-term stable operation and high-performance output.
