Tempest is 3-way active speaker designed to be a front LCR in a room
approx. 10m in length where the seats are between 2-8m from the speaker face. Tempest uses a 400mm high unique ultra-wide horizontal dispersion pleated diaphragm tweeter, with a waveguide to increase sound focus and dynamics across the seating positions. The Tempest introduces Neodymium mid-range drivers to maintain the incredible detail down to 300Hz, where the twin 12” bass drivers take over and provide bass extension flat to 30Hz. For home cinema systems to require the ultimate in sound quality and bass steering, Tempest is the pinnacle of Elementi design technology. All ‘AIR’ speakers feature linear phase technology, providing a time accurate, warm and incredibly detailed sound that is difficult to describe.

All Elementi speakers are digital active and benefit from floating 32 point DSP processing, digital crossovers, FIR filters with correction in the frequency and time domains, look forward speaker protection, high flow PASCAL amplifiers and high quality D/A converters. All amplifiers are specified with 3dB of headroom at maximum output to ensure there is no clipping or general distortion. Each speaker is custom tested and run in to ensure optimal performance out of the box.

Elementi Audio Zephyr — cinematic two-way LCR with ultra-wide dispersion

The Zephyr is a purpose-built, active two-way designed for front LCR or surround duties in tuned home cinemas. Its standout trait is the ultra-wide dispersion tweeter and waveguide that deliver uniform coverage and exceptional object tracking across large seating areas. Reviewers praised a natural, neutral midrange and smooth, ribbon-like treble that avoids brightness while preserving detail.

Driven by 500W or 1,000W amplification modules and Elementi's deep DSP (2,048 EQ points per speaker), the Zephyr offers substantial headroom and dynamic control — ideal for fast transients and orchestral dynamics. Imaging and soundstage performance are particular strengths: wide horizontal coverage creates a cohesive, cinematic soundfield with reliable off-axis clarity.

Build and installation are engineered for professional deployment: resilient mounts, flexible orientation, and a design meant to be calibrated in situ. As Tony O'Brien observed, the speakers are tuned to work with a treated room and integrator workflow.

Ideal for serious home cinemas that pair speakers with subwoofers and professional calibration, the Zephyr stands out as a reference-grade surround/LCR option for listeners who prioritise imaging, neutrality and power.

StereoNET United Kingdom

"It's a wonderfully natural sound that doesn't favour nor distinguish, but is free of the colouration that I'm used to hearing in many other systems, including my own."

Pros

  • Exceptionally wide horizontal dispersion and object tracking creates a uniform surround field and excellent imaging.
  • Neutral, natural midrange with clear dialogue and orchestral presence — free of obvious coloration.
  • Strong dynamics and headroom supported by 500W/1,000W modules and Elementi's DSP, delivering punchy transients and room-filling power.

&

Cons

  • Limited low-frequency extension (rated to 80Hz) — typically requires subwoofers for full cinematic bass.
  • Not an off-the-shelf, DIY product: speakers are sold through authorised dealers and expect professional in-situ tuning/installation.

Bass

90/100

Dual 6.5" LF drivers with a rated low end of 80Hz. Reviewers note the speakers can be 'often felt' even at the back of the cinema and praise the power and headroom, so bass is excellent for the driver size and installation intent.

Mid

92/100

Multiple comments describe a wonderfully natural, free-of-colouration midrange with 'dignity and presence' on dialog and orchestral content; reviewers highlight accurate frequency and phase response supporting strong mid clarity.

Treble

88/100

High-frequency extension to 23kHz and wide-dispersion waveguides; reviewers describe a 'laid back' ribbon-like treble character and no harshness, yielding smooth, slightly relaxed top end with good detail retrieval.

Soundstage Imaging

93/100

Wide horizontal dispersion and waveguides produce excellent object tracking and a 'tremendous sound stage'; reviewers specifically praise uniform coverage for surround channels and clear imaging even off-axis.

Dynamics

92/100

Reviewers report 'plenty of power and dynamic range' and Elementi's 3dB headroom to avoid clipping; the speakers show strong macro- and micro-dynamics appropriate to their powered modules.

Build Quality

88/100

Installation-focused build with resilient mounting hardware to decouple vibration; overall construction and engineering (orientation flexibility, waveguides) imply solid professional-grade build quality.

Features Connectivity

92/100

Active design with 500W/1000W amplification modules, extensive EQ capability (2,048 points per speaker) and flexible orientation. Score reflects active DSP/EQ and system-integration features rather than passive terminal baseline.

Value for Money

75/100

Price not provided; reviewers praise performance, natural sound and installation strengths, but without pricing or peer-comparison data a conservative above-average value score is used.
