You want all the awesomeness of the original Gravitas but in a more room friendly size? We offer you the Gravitas 12. By splitting the Gravitas in two, they can now fit in just about any room.

After much research and design on new sub woofer concepts, we've made the Gravitas 12 that replaces the first Gravitas 0.5 - the unique papyrus long stroke woofer delivers deeper and more linear bass than the original 0.5. More power delivery but still very compact for a 12" sub woofer.

It is difficult to express how awesome the new Gravitas is. Normal specifications do not properly describe the effortless power, weight and authority it can deliver.

To frame the immense capability of the Gravitas in another way, when played to capacity reproducing the lowest note on a four string bass, each Gravitas 12 will displace over 5,000 litres of air in under 60 seconds. Each Gravitas 12 features one 330mm papyrus woofer along with our 500 watt digital processor and amplifier.

Alongside the obvious application for serious home theatre, for audiophile stereo lovers there is a high pass filtered output making Gravitas an active crossover, easing the bass burden and distortion of the loudspeakers with which it is paired.

VAF claim great pride in attention to detail. That’s why inside the substantial 26Kg Gravitas 12 there are four internal partitions ensuring no external panel is unsupported over a span greater than 130mm. The result is Gravitas’ amazingly inert resonant free enclosure.

To put it simply, in a market full of ‘me-too’ subwoofers, the new VAF Gravitas stands alone.

PRODUCT FEATURES:

UNITY GAIN BUFFERED DAISY OUTPUT

All VAF subwoofers feature both inputs and outputs to allow daisy chaining to create multi point bass systems. This enables 2, 3, 4 up to 10 subwoofers to be used in the same system. So whether they are used in twin subwoofer MPB systems, right through to total MPB offering one subwoofer for each channel, the line level electrical connection is effectively perfect..

MULTI POINT BASS (MPB)

VAF’s Multi Point Bass (MPB) radiates bass into a room with controlled dispersion in a way that blends perfectly with the main speakers in either surround sound and stereo movie or music systems. An additional benefit of MPB is more even bass across a whole room which is not just limited to a ‘sweet spot. The buffered unity gain outputs on all VAF subwoofers makes them natively designed for MPB.

ACTIVE STEREO INTEGRATION

Unlike other subwoofers intended solely for home theatre, all VAF subwoofers include Digital High Pass filters that enable the subwoofers to become part of a high fidelity stereo system.

NATIVE ROOM OPTIMISATION

Subwoofers are able to add a foundation of bass to deliver the full lower frequency sounds in both stereo and surround sound systems. While a single subwoofer can add the ‘weight’ to the sound, a single subwoofer can never be integrated perfectly with either stereo or surround speakers.
