INTRODUCTION

About ISO-PUCK Series products

The IsoAcoustics ISO-PUCK Series provide an innovative new approach in isolating studio monitors, speakers and other systems. This unique patented design provides a high degree of isolation while resisting lateral movement and oscillations, which results in greater sound clarity and focus. This versatile isolation tool is possibly the most cost effective upgrade available for improving the performance and clarity of your speakers or monitors.

PRODUCTS

The ISO-PUCK series consists of 3 models, each designed with different weight capacities. 3 or more pucks can be used at a time depending on the weight of the speaker or monitor.

DESIGN

ISO-PUCK Series design features

The small, compact design makes the ISO-PUCK series the ideal speaker isolation solution to carry with you from studio to studio, session to session or anywhere you want to improve the sound clarity and provide consistent results from one location to the next for your studio monitors or speakers.

The ISO-PUCK upper flange “suction cup” design adheres to the underside of the cabinet making the upper isolator live with the speaker, while the lower isolator anchors to the supporting surface. All the energy is managed within the core of the ISO-PUCK isolators which are carefully tuned to provide superior isolation and control while remaining on-axis.

The low-profile design makes the ISO-PUCK series the ideal solution on meter bridges, floor stands, consoles, desktops, millwork, or soffit mounted. These isolators decouple studio monitors and speakers from the supporting surface to eliminate the transfer of energy and the resulting sound smearing and coloration. Even placement on the most solid surfaces will greatly benefit as the internal reflections coming back up from the supporting surface are attenuated to eliminate the smear and provide greater sound clarity and open up the stereo image.

If more height or tilt is required, please see our ISO-Stand Series and Aperta Series of isolation stands.

APPLICATIONS

Guitar & Bass Amps

IsoAcoustics ISO-PUCK series provide improved isolation and performance for guitar and bass amplifiers. For home, studio or stage the ISO-PUCK series decouple amplifiers from the floor or stage which results in remarkable sound clarity and openness with tighter bass and greater detail. Discover improved isolation with greater punch and clarity when practicing at home, or tracking in the studio. Musicians often struggle to maintain “their sound” as they move from one “boomy” stage to the next. ISO-PUCK series of isolators provide a consistent isolation support to preserve your sound in any situation and are great for amps, cabinets, stage monitors subwoofers and more.

Studio & Stage

IsoAcoustics ISO-PUCK’s can be used in a variety of ways to improve isolation and performance in the studio and on stage. Improving sound clarity or solving problems, the ISO-PUCK’s have a wide variety of uses.

How many ISO-PUCKs do I need for my setup?

The ISO-PUCK models are designed to be used in multiples to match the weight of each speaker or equipment in which they are supporting. A minimum of 3 isolators is required for each item they are isolating. The weight limits are as follows:

· ISO-Puck mini – max 6 lbs (2.75 KG) per isolator.

· ISO-Puck – max 20 lbs (9 KG) per isolator.

· ISO-Puck 76 – max 40 lbs (18 KG) per isolator.

For best results, we recommend not getting within 10% of the specified weight limits to allow for uneven weight distribution.

What is the weight limit for each of the ISO-Puck models?

The weight limits are as follows:

· ISO-Puck mini – max 6lbs (2.75 KG) per isolator.

· ISO-Puck – max 20lbs (9 KG) per isolator.

What types of audio equipment can the ISO-PUCKs be used with?

The ISO-PUCK was originally designed for the Pro Audio market and is a very versatile isolator for studio monitors, guitar/bass amps and cabinets, subwoofers, DJ equipment, mic stands and more.

What is the difference between the ISO-Puck and the OREA series?

The ISO-PUCK was originally designed for the pro audio and Musical Instrument (MI) channel, and used with studio monitors, guitar/bass amps, DJ turntables, etc. The OREA, on the other hand, is designed for home audio. The performance curve for the OREA models are narrower in weight range and will provide a slightly stronger sonic benefit in its range than the ISO-PUCKs. The more effective isolation results in more sound clarity and focus.

What direction should the IsoAcoustics logo be facing on the ISO-Puck models?

For best results, we recommend positioning the ISO-PUCK with the IsoAcoustics logo facing forward, in the same direction as the drivers. We do not recommend rotating 90 degrees. The IsoAcoustics patented isolators are directional. They are shaped with an internal taper and concave that prevents off-axis movements and keeps the energy on-axis and aligned with the direction of the transducer’s travel. Alternatively, the ISO-PUCK can be rotated 180 degrees so that the logo is not visible.

Do the ISO-PUCKs have height and tilt adjustment?

The ISO-PUCKs do not have height and tilt adjustment. If you require height and tilt adjustment, we recommend the ISO-Stands or Aperta series of stands.

What is the difference between the ISO-Puck 76, ISO-Puck, and ISO-Puck mini?

The ISO-PUCK 76 and ISO-PUCK are designed for heavier speakers and monitors. The ISO-PUCK 76 has a weight capacity of 40 lbs. (18 kg) each and the ISO-PUCK has a weight capacity of 20 lbs. (9 kg) each. They are both sold in pairs and have a rigid black powder-coated steel housing.

The ISO-PUCK mini is designed for higher speakers and monitors with a weight capacity of 6 lbs. (2.75 kg) each. They are sold in sets of 8 and have injection-molded black housing.

Is the suction cup connection required for the ISO-Pucks to work properly?

The suction cup effect is not required for a strong connection. The ISO-Pucks will have a suction cup connection to smoother surfaces. For textured surfaces, the ISO-Puck’s will have a strong friction grip.
