Advanced 110 Ohm digital interconnect.

The Hyper AES-EBU is an optimum quality 110 Ohm digital cable for this increasingly popular interface. To achieve a cost-effective but high level of performance, we use our low contact resistance soldered XLR plug; in tandem with highly conductive silver-plated OFC conductors, microporous PTFE dielectric and foil/OFC braid screen configuration.

The speed (bandwidth) characteristic of most cables is determined primarily by the combination of the dielectric performance of the insulator applied around the conductor and the conductor material itself.

One of the primary challenges in this type of cable is to keep as close as possible to the desired 110-ohm impedance specification to minimise cable reflections and hence time-based jitter induction.

To acheive this, we use a balanced pair of silver-plated OFC conductors, individually wrapped with a highly efficient microporous PTFE dielectric tape, plus anti-vibration cotton filler; the whole then enclosed within a multi-level screen constructed from aluminium foil and OFC woven braid.
