Takshaka Digital

– Hybrid Design for Uncompromised Clarity

The Takshaka Digital cable represents the evolution of everything we’ve learned from building the award-winning Boomslang series. While the Boomslang redefined digital audio with its non-coaxial, parallel magnetic ribbon design, the Takshaka Digital takes things a step further — merging the advantages of traditional coaxial shielding with the benefits of dedicated signal and return paths.

This is not a coaxial cable. And it’s not a parallel design either. It’s a proprietary hybrid architecture that leverages solid-core construction and precision geometry to eliminate the tradeoffs found in conventional digital cables.

Multi-Metal, Multi-Gauge for Perfect Tonal Balance

At the heart of the Takshaka Digital is a unique blend of solid-core conductors in three different gauges — each one meticulously selected and positioned to optimize bandwidth and tonal balance. Unlike typical digital cables that rely solely on a single metal, the Takshaka Digital uses pure silver, pure 24k gold, and pure red copper. Each material is chosen not only for its conductivity, but for its tonal contribution: silver for speed and detail, gold for warmth and body, and copper for coherence and grounding.

This tri-metal combination delivers a sonic presentation that is simultaneously rich, revealing, and natural — allowing both delicate nuances and powerful transients to shine through with breathtaking precision.

Hanging Faraday Shield – Maximum Protection, Zero Interference

One of the most important design elements of the Takshaka Digital is the use of our proprietary Hanging Faraday Shield. This unique shielding configuration creates a fully isolated ground plane that surrounds the signal path, dissipating electromagnetic interference without ever becoming part of the circuit.

  • No added capacitance
  • No return-current contamination
  • No impedance mismatch

In essence, the shield protects the signal without ever affecting the signal.

Unlike coaxial designs — where the shield also acts as the return conductor — the Takshaka Digital features dedicated solid-core feed and return conductors, ensuring a balanced, interference-free digital transmission.

Why 1.37 Meters?

All Takshaka Digital cables are crafted at a minimum length of 1.37 meters (approximately 4.5 feet) — and that’s no accident. This length is based on transmission line theory and the propagation speed of electrical signals through our Teflon-insulated cable design.

A digital signal (such as S/PDIF or AES/EBU) travels at roughly 66–72% the speed of light in a typical Teflon dielectric. That means the signal moves at approximately 6 to 7.2 inches per nanosecond. A receiver that gets a signal reflection from a cable shorter than ~1.37 meters may not have enough delay between the original pulse and the reflected pulse, causing overlap and jitter — timing errors that degrade audio clarity and focus.

By ensuring a minimum cable length of 1.37 meters, the reflected signal is delayed long enough to arrive after the data has already been latched, effectively nullifying its ability to interfere with timing. This results in lower jitter, cleaner timing, and a more accurate digital waveform — all of which contribute to the Takshaka’s stunningly precise and musically engaging performance.
