One of the reasons that our Tough Nut Isolation Cones work so well, is that the rubber incorporates some flex. This feature provides give, or a degree of acceptance vs a rigid surface experiencing harsher impact from airborne or seismic vibration.

The same fundamental principle occurs with a ship adrift at sea, it could remain afloat for years but the minute it runs aground, the energy from the oceans waves will ultimately destroy the vessel.

That said, when our Tough Nut Isolation Cones are aplied to taller floor standing speakers, the degree of flex or movement needs to be managed, and this is where the Tough Nut Isolation Cylinders come into play and can take over for our Isolation Cones.

Our Tough Nut Isolation Cylinders provide a broader foot print, supporting taller speakers more affectively while performing similarly to our Isolation Cones. An additional benefit of the Isolation Cylinders, is that their load capacity is greater than the Isolation Cones. So while taller speakers are generally heavier, the Isolation Cylinders can manage the added weight and the vibration as well.
