The Fosi Audio N3 brings enjoyable Bluetooth playback to wired headphones, matching a direct phone adapter for everyday Spotify listening in Audio Masterclass’s testing. Its extra-gain switch, bass boost and analogue input add welcome flexibility, making this compact receiver a persuasive, affordable bridge between wireless sources and favourite wired cans.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Delivers enjoyable Spotify playback comparable to a direct phone adapter in practical listening.
Provides adequate volume, with an extra-gain switch for listeners who need more output.
Bass boost can add useful low-end weight with headphones that benefit from it.
&
Cons
Its usefulness depends on the listener’s setup; the reviewer did not personally need a Bluetooth receiver for their own use.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 68/100
The available review finds Spotify playback through the N3 as enjoyable as using a direct adapter and reports no obvious fault in operation. It offers encouraging everyday listening feedback, but provides little detail on resolution, tonal character, background noise, or performance with a range of headphones.
Transparency Resolution
75/100
Audio Masterclass found music enjoyment from Spotify to be as good with the N3 as with a direct adapter. The review does not discuss detail retrieval, separation, treble refinement, or clarity in more demanding terms.
Tonal Balance Musicality
74/100
The reviewer reports a satisfying overall musical result and could not identify a practical fault. There is no direct description of the amplifier's tonal balance, timbre, warmth, or long-session character.
Dynamics
80/100
Volume was described as adequate, and the extra-gain switch was noted as useful when more level is needed. The review does not assess transient speed, punch, bass control, or whether the amplifier remains effortless with demanding headphones.
Noise Floor
50/100
The review does not comment on hiss, hum, background silence, or use with sensitive IEMs. Its suitability for very efficient earphones is therefore unclear.
Headphone Compatibility
62/100
The added gain setting gives the N3 some flexibility when additional volume is required. Beyond a possible use with over-ear earbuds, the review gives no evidence of performance across low-impedance headphones, planars, high-impedance models, or sensitive IEMs.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
50/100
The available review focuses on the N3's practical function rather than its casework, controls, connectors, battery durability, or long-term reliability. Reviewers say little about construction quality.
Features Usability
84/100
The N3 combines Bluetooth receiving with headphone amplification, and includes both an extra-gain switch and bass boost. The reviewer found it straightforwardly functional, though the available coverage does not examine connection options, battery life, controls, or everyday portability in depth.
Value for Money
85/100
At $49.99, the N3 sits in an accessible portable-audio price bracket. The review does not directly compare it with competing Bluetooth receivers or comment on whether it represents especially strong value.
