Value for Money

88/100

The Montana NEO delivers a three-dimensional, solidly dynamic analogue presentation with striking directness to the recording. Audiophilepure found it detailed, coherent and lifelike across musical styles, while its neutral, well-damped platform lets premium tonearms and cartridges reveal their own character. With dual-arm capability and formidable engineering, it is a compelling foundation for a no-compromise vinyl system.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"The combination of the Montana Neo turntable, Origin Live Agile tonearm and ZYX UNIverse Optimum moving-coil phono cartridge is stunning!"

— Audiophilepure

"I had no doubt about where the money went"

— Audiophilepure

Pros

Detailed, coherent three-dimensional sound with lifelike solidity and dynamic force.

Neutral, well-damped platform allows different cartridge and tonearm personalities to come through without apparent restriction.

Ingenious, skillfully executed engineering gives the deck a precise, authoritative feel in operation.

Cons

A very high-end investment, especially once a suitable tonearm and cartridge are added.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 89/100

The Montana NEO is described as an exceptionally direct, solid and dimensional source, with strong dynamics and an unusually convincing connection to recordings. Reviewers also praise its neutral, well-damped platform character, though there is little direct listening commentary on speed behavior or isolation under difficult conditions.

Overall Sound

96/100

Audiophilepure describes a detailed, three-dimensional and consistently coherent presentation, with lifelike solidity and dynamic force. The review calls the result a major upgrade across musical styles and praises the deck's ability to reveal a recording with striking directness.

Speed Stability

80/100

The belt-drive system provides fine speed adjustment and uses an external digital motor controller, but the reviews provide no direct comments on pitch steadiness, wow, flutter or long-term speed consistency. Its electronic provisions appear purposeful, but listening evidence in this area is limited.

Tonearm Performance

87/100

This is a deck-only design with adjustable armboards for up to two 9- to 12-inch tonearms, allowing it to be tailored to a system and cartridge. In the reviewed setup, the platform was said to let differing transducer personalities come through without apparent restriction, although the arm itself was not the subject of detailed assessment.

Noise Isolation

89/100

The reviewer characterizes the Montana NEO as a neutral, well-damped cartridge carrier, a quality reflected in the clean, solid presentation reported in listening. There are no complaints of motor noise, rumble or obvious mechanical intrusion, though footfall and acoustic-feedback resistance were not specifically discussed.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

94/100

The review finds the deck's engineering unusually well concealed but clearly audible in use, calling its execution ingenious and skillful. Its 37kg construction, 13kg damped platter, precision bearing and adjustable gel-damped feet support that impression of a seriously executed high-mass platform.

Features Usability

85/100

Useful provisions include fine speed adjustment, an external controller, integrated controls, height-adjustable feet and support for two configurable armboards. It is a specialist manual record player rather than a convenience-focused package, with no built-in phono stage, cartridge or automated operation.

Value for Money

88/100

At roughly $30,995 in the reviewed configuration, this is firmly a high-end purchase, but the reviewer says its engineering and performance made clear where the money went after personal setup and listening. The review frames the expense as credibly supported by the deck's execution rather than questioning its asking price.
