Designed to impress

Legend Series was designed from the ground up to deliver the best sounding Polk speakers ever created. From our flagship audio technologies to their beautiful, elegant cabinetry the Legend L600 deliver great sound without compromise.

Pinnacle ring radiator tweeter

40 plus years of tweeter innovation, design and prototyping has led to the development of the new 1” high definition Pinnacle ring radiator tweeter. Developed for the Legend Series, it delivers ultra-clear, crisp highs without unwanted coloration or distortions. The Pinnacle tweeter features a finely tuned waveguide that dramatically improves the dispersion of high frequency energy ensuring a broad “sweet spot” while the critically damped rear-chamber helps to defeat any unwanted resonances.

Better bass by design

Traditional bass ports make noise (chuff) and mask the low frequency bass notes you want to hear. The new enhanced Power Port® design smoothly transitions air flow from the speaker into your listening area for louder, cleaner bass while minimizing turbulence, distortion, and port noise.

5.25" turbine cone

Polk developed the Turbine cone specifically for the Legend series to ensure the natural reproduction of the mid-range, the frequencies our ears are so sensitive to. The Turbine cone combines Polk’s proprietary foam core and the molded Turbine geometry which dramatically increases stiffness and damping, without adding mass, resulting in a smooth, detailed mid-range and effortless bass – hear every detail.

3d audio compatibility optional height module

For the ultimate listening experience, the L800 can be used for the front stage of any home theater or as side and rear surrounds. Elevate your sound of your home theater set up with our optional Legend L900 height module (sold separately). This works with today’s new home theater technologies including: Dolby Atmos, DTS, DTS:X, DTS:X Virtual, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D.

Deliciously Crispy

Polk Audio Legend L600 towers deliver commanding low end up front: reviewers praised their prodigious bass, tight dynamics, and an expansive soundstage that makes instruments disappear into the room. Handsome, heavy cabinets and bi‑wire/bi‑amp friendly terminals add flexibility for home theater or stereo setups. Observers from HomeTheaterHifi and The Absolute Sound highlight the L600's musical authority and engagement.

HomeTheaterHifi

"These Polk Audio Legend L600 speakers make bass. A whole lot of butt-shaking, window-rattling bass."

Pros

  • Massive, well-controlled low end that can remove the need for a subwoofer—reviewers repeatedly note deep, tight bass and slam from the dual 7" woofers and Enhanced Power Port.
  • Expansive, layered soundstage and imaging—listeners reported instruments that ‘disappear’ and a wide, immersive presentation, especially with bi‑amping/bi‑wiring.
  • Robust build and flexible connectivity—heavy, well‑braced cabinets, attractive finishes, and multiple binding posts support bi‑wire/bi‑amp setups and solid speaker connections.

&

Cons

  • Relatively low sensitivity (86 dB) and 4‑ohm impedance mean they benefit from higher‑power amplification; they can be demanding for modest systems.
  • On some recordings the strong bass can overhang or dominate, requiring careful room placement or tuning to avoid blotting midrange detail.
  • Heavy, bulky cabinets (around 70–78 lb each) make unpacking and placement a two‑person job.

Bass

96/100

Dual 7" woofers and cabinet design deliver 'prodigious' low end — reviewers repeatedly noted 'butt‑shaking, window‑rattling' bass and said you don't need a sub. Polk's porting and enclosure control produce deep, tight, and authoritative bass without obvious boom; multiple reviewers cited sub‑level extension and slam.

Mid

92/100

Midrange described as smooth, pleasant, and weighty; vocals and instruments were portrayed with realistic timbre and drama. Reviewers noted coherent mid-to-bass integration and an engaging musical presentation across genres.

Treble

92/100

Pinnacle ring tweeter provides sparkle and detail without harshness — reviewers cited accurate rendering and localization of metal/brass instruments. High frequencies add air and clarity while staying controlled.

Soundstage Imaging

95/100

Listeners reported an expansive, layered soundstage with images that 'disappeared' and extended beyond the room; bi-wiring/bi-amping further widened imaging. Reviewers called the soundstage among the best heard in their rooms.

Dynamics

95/100

Excellent micro- and macro-dynamics — L600s handled >110 dB in-room and 'used every watt' without strain. Reviewers praised bombastic dynamics and fast, impactful delivery of transients and bass hits.

Build Quality

93/100

Heavy, well-braced cabinets (over 70 lb) with solid finishes and robust terminals gave impressions of mass and solidity. Reviewers praised fit-and-finish and mechanical connection quality of the triple terminal blocks.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive tower baseline applied. The L600s offer bi-wire/bi-amp capable triple terminals and solid hardware, but as passive speakers the features/connectivity score is capped at the passive baseline.

Value for Money

91/100

Multiple reviewers called the L600 'affordable' and recommended it for budget-conscious audiophiles, noting it 'needs to be on the radar' given its performance. Strong performance-per-dollar impressions support a high value score despite price not listed here.
