Sorbothane Visco-elastic Polymer

Audiophiles around the world recognize Sorbothane as the leading material for absorbing and canceling vibrations that can adversely affect audio and video performance. Sorbothane is a visco-elastic polymer. Although it’s a solid, it behaves like a liquid in relationship to vibrations. Vibrations excite the loose bonds between the Sorbothane molecules, causing them to rub against each other and change the vibration energy into quickly dissipated heat energy.

Unique Shape Improves Performance

Pangea Audio’s designers worked with the engineers at Sorbothane to create the unique shape of Mega Feet. The feet are stable and firm under the weight of an audio component without being too rigid to compromise performance. For best results, use the foot with the ‘P’ pointing downward for maximum contact with the component chassis.

Optimum Weight Range

Pangea Sorbothane feet have an optimum weight range where they are most effective in absorbing and canceling vibrations. Once the maximum weight is exceeded, the material is no longer effective unless more Pangea Sorbothane feet are added.

The recommended weight range for a set of four Mega Feet is 40 to 80 lbs per set, making Mega perfect for larger components. For source components and other lighter gear, we recommend Pico Feet.
