Linn 150
Energetic. Refined. Fun.
150 is a modern, high-performance, and compact 3-way loudspeaker. This all-new, passive speaker model is energetic, conspicuously refined – and loads of fun!
Passive Pedigree
Linn has a long history of designing and manufacturing compact hi-fi loudspeakers with excellent performance that belies their size. 150 reflects this pedigree, with a new performance benchmark and the addition of peerless versatility when it comes to building and expanding a system.
150 Selekt System
Pair 150 speakers with a Selekt DSM: Classic Hub, and you will have a future-proof complete system which can be upgraded over time. Upgrade performance from passive to Exakt by adding more internal amplification, upgrade your DAC modules, and apply free-of-charge, capability-enhancing software updates – in big steps, or bit-by-bit – it’s your choice.
Passive floorstanding loudspeaker
With 150, the goal was to create a fundamentally entertaining loudspeaker, but one with refinement, sophistication and neutrality, so that it would play any source material equally well – and equally enjoyably.
150 is fitted with premium drive units, delivering excellent linear performance and excursion capability. Drawing from what we learned during development of our flagship 360 loudspeakers, drive units are mounted at the very front of the baffle, with no grille, to minimise occlusion and improve excursion.
Component quality is high throughout. The lower-order passive crossover in 150 is designed for signal purity and, as a result, lends the speaker speed and dynamism.
Inspired by our flagship 360 loudspeaker is a magnet-mounted trim piece, featuring fine concentric grooves redolent of the surface of a vinyl record and an electro-formed Linn logo which serves as a tweeter guard.
Exakt
By virtue of 150’s 3-way drive unit layout, it is now easier and more attainable than ever to upgrade to the extraordinary performance of Linn’s proprietary Exakt technology. 150 can be converted to Exakt in a matter of minutes, whilst all requisite amplification, DAC modules and the Exakt digital crossover can be contained within a Selekt DSM. Just add speaker cable!

Sound Quality
95/100
Bass
96/100
Reviewers describe the low end as "deep, full-bodied, rigorously controlled" with texture and timbral detail; Linn quotes a 38Hz response. Given the 190mm bass driver, ported cabinet and the reviewer language suggesting authoritative sub‑bass, the bass performance sits at the top of the large‑tower band.
Mid
96/100
The midrange is repeatedly highlighted as the speaker's strongest suit: voices are "immediate, articulate" and loaded with character and nuance. Review evidence points to very natural timbre and coherent crossover integration, supporting a very high midscore.
Treble
93/100
Treble is described as having "bite and shine" but remaining well controlled and stable at loud levels, with no tonal shifts. That combination of extension, detail and restraint earns a high score while avoiding any penalty for brightness.
Soundstage Imaging
95/100
Reviewers report a convincing, expansive and highly believable soundstage — "musicians are there in the room" — with direct and articulate imaging. Width, depth and focus are strong according to the review.
Dynamics
95/100
Described as having "vaulting dynamic potency" and sufficient headroom so shifts in attack remain obvious even at loud levels. The speaker demonstrates both macro and micro dynamic authority in the reviewer's listening.

Build Quality
91/100
Construction and finish are called "flawlessly built and finished" with tactile real oak veneer, though the cabinet styling is conservative. Engineering (bracing/resonance control) is implied strong by the measured tonal cleanliness and lack of coloration.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive speaker baseline applied. The 150 is Exakt‑capable when paired with Linn electronics (Selekt DSM or Exaktbox) and has triple binding posts on the speaker, but as a passive tower the connectivity score follows the passive baseline.
Value for Money
78/100
At GBP 7,805 the speaker is expensive; the reviewer calls it costly but argues strongly that it warrants auditioning and is justifiable for buyers prepared to spend at this level. High performance but premium pricing yields a solid yet cautious value score.
