Bi-Wire Capable

The F704SP (Special Production) merges the dynamic force of the F704 with the refinement of the elite F1 Series, delivering breathtaking realism and musicality. At its core, Fyne’s 300mm IsoFlare point source driver pairs a 12″ multi-fibre bass/mid cone with a 3″ titanium dome compression tweeter for seamless time alignment, exceptional clarity, and pinpoint imaging. A second 300mm bass driver extends low frequency depth, while the BassTrax Tractrix diffuser system ensures deep, controlled 360 degree room filling bass.An upgraded crossover featuring ClarityCap capacitors, Vishay resistors, and cryogenic treatment refines signal purity for an immersive, high-fidelity experience. The robust aluminium sandwich plinth, derived from the flagship F1-12S, provides exceptional stability, enhances bass dispersion, and improves overall performance.Hand finished in the UK in piano gloss black, gloss white, gloss walnut, and a luxurious satin walnut veneer, the F704SP strikes the balance of sonic excellence with sumptuous aesthetics.

Value for Money

85/100

The F704SP promises fast, deep bass, pinpoint imaging and clean, high-impact dynamics from its IsoFlare point-source driver and twin 12-inch configuration. Ian White at ecoustics highlights its controlled low end, smooth treble and sophisticated BassTrax loading, while the heavily braced birch-ply cabinet and cryogenically treated crossover underscore serious flagship engineering.

What Reviewers Are Saying

"The F704SP isn’t just the best of Fyne—it’s a Scottish-built middle finger to anyone who thinks British hi-fi can’t still lead the charge."

Pros

Twin 12-inch driver system is presented as delivering fast, deep, controlled bass without sacrificing detail.

IsoFlare point-source architecture is designed for tight phase coherence and pinpoint imaging.

Substantial birch-ply cabinet, aluminium plinth hardware and premium crossover components indicate exceptionally robust construction.

Cons

At $25,999 per pair, it is firmly positioned as a cost-no-object high-end loudspeaker.

The 71.5kg-per-speaker weight makes installation and repositioning demanding.

SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 53/100

The supplied coverage is primarily a product introduction rather than a conventional listening review. It makes ambitious claims for deep, controlled bass, clean treble, phase coherence and low compression, but provides little first-hand audition detail to establish how those qualities translate across music and rooms.

Bass

55/100

The article describes the twin 12-inch arrangement as fast, deep and controlled rather than slow or overblown. Those statements are presented as product claims, however, with no extended listening observations covering bass extension, room interaction or tonal balance.

Mid

50/100

The IsoFlare driver is presented as a point-source design intended to maintain coherence through the vocal range. The supplied coverage does not include listening comments on vocal timbre, instrumental body, crossover integration or midrange neutrality.

Treble

54/100

The article says the titanium compression tweeter delivers high frequencies that are clean and free of harshness. It does not provide detailed listening evidence about treble texture, air, long-term refinement or behaviour with brighter recordings.

Soundstage Imaging

53/100

Fyne's coaxial driver arrangement is said to offer tight phase coherence and pinpoint imaging. There are no audition-based descriptions of stage width, depth, image stability, layering or placement sensitivity in a real room.

Dynamics

52/100

The 96dB sensitivity and upgraded crossover are presented as supporting low compression and lively playback. The article does not report how the speaker handles large-scale crescendos, quiet dynamic shifts or sustained high-volume listening.

Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.

Build Quality

86/100

The F704SP has a notably substantial specified construction, including a heavily braced high-density birch-ply cabinet, precision-machined aluminium elements and adjustable M12 metal feet. The article also highlights high-grade terminals, internal wiring and a cryogenically treated crossover, though it offers no long-term ownership evidence.

Value for Money

85/100

At $25,999 per pair, the F704SP competes in a demanding high-end floorstander segment, where large driver systems and elaborate cabinetry are expected. The supplied article identifies the price but does not directly compare its performance or value against similarly priced rivals.
