Original open-type premium headphones made of solid black walnut and aluminum

This product is a premium headphone developed based on the TH909, Fostex's top-of-the-line open-type headphones. The housing is machined from solid black walnut, a high-grade wood, and equipped with a proprietary technology in-house made BioDyna diaphragm driver unit. The new premium headphones are carefully assembled one by one at a factory in Japan.

Features

The housing is made of solid natural wood. Therefore, the grain, bark, coloration, knots, etc. may vary from one product to another, but this does not affect the sound quality at all.

The TH900 series is equipped with an in-house made driver unit boasting a magnetic flux density of 1.5 Tesla, and the TH808’s original acoustic adjustment realizes delicate, high-resolution sound quality over a wide bandwidth.
The in-house-made driver unit, developed using proprietary technologies accumulated over many years, combines bio-cellulose fiber and other fibers in the diaphragm under optimal conditions to achieve low specific gravity, high Young’s modulus, and high internal loss. The low distortion rate and ultra-strong magnetic circuit with a magnetic flux density of 1.5 tesla, which employs a repulsive magnetic circuit of neodymium magnets, and the good linearity of the free edge realize excellent responsiveness and a vast dynamic range over the entire frequency range, reproducing not only delicate, high-resolution and beautiful mid-high range, but also faithfully reproducing low midrange frequencies with large amplitude. The system also faithfully reproduces the high amplitude low-mid range.

The housing is carved from solid black walnut, a high-grade wood, and features a unique design with an open aperture and a double arrangement of etched aluminum parts that change their impression depending on the light and angle. The combination of the carefully fine-tuned aperture ratio and internal parts with the resonance of the solid black walnut wood reproduces a natural sound field that is pleasant to listen to and does not tire the listener.

TH808 original high-purity OFC unbalanced cable is included.
The TH808 comes with TH808’s original high-purity OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) unbalanced cables, which are free from impurities to the utmost limit to enhance transmission performance.

The TH808 is equipped with a detachable connector port and uses 7N grade cable for internal wiring.
Detachable connector terminals with rhodium plating for hardness, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance, and detachable contact terminals on the headphone body side are used. Balanced connection is also supported with an XLR-terminal cable (ET-H3.0N7BL) (sold separately).

Ear pads with low-resilience cushions
The earpads are similar to those of the TH909, with low-resilience cushions that cover the rear of the ears to reduce sound leakage, and carefully selected high-grade synthetic leather to provide a pleasant feel and comfortable fit even after prolonged use.
