Features

The FE108-Sol is a special unit that inherits the development philosophy of the base model FE103-Sol and incorporates all of the original technology accumulated over many years. The FE108-Sol is a special unit that allows you to fully enjoy excellent sound quality and more delicate and expressive music with a back-loaded horn.

2-layer ES cones

The diaphragm is lightweight but has rigidity and internal loss by combining thin, flexible, high-density ES cone fibers and two-layer papermaking technology. The base layer is made mainly of long-fiber pulp and has high rigidity and internal loss due to its thickness rigidity, while the surface layer is made of short-fiber pulp to achieve high propagation velocity on the diaphragm surface. This enables reproduction of highs with good rise and sharpness and bass with thickness, while maintaining the bright and taut tone in the mid-range.

The two-layer papermaking is our proprietary technology, in which the cone paper is papermade in two steps to form a single cone paper with two layers, the base layer and the surface layer.

Large ferrite magnetic circuit

A Φ 100 mm ferrite magnet is used for the magnetic circuit to ensure sufficient magnetic flux density. The pole section is covered with a copper cap to reduce current distortion. This enables powerful music reproduction.

Highly rigid aluminum die-cast frame

The highly rigid aluminum die-cast frame stably supports the large ferrite magnetic circuit and suppresses unwanted vibrations transmitted to the enclosure.

The frame outer diameter : Φ128 mm, mounting hole pitch : Φ115 mm, and baffle opening diameter : Φ102 to Φ103 mm are equivalent to those of the FE108Super* and 6N-FE108Super*.

Mechanical 2-way center cap

The center cap is directly connected to the voice coil bobbin to achieve bandwidth extension above 20 kHz and extended high frequency reproduction.

Gold-plated terminals

Faston 205 type low-loss gold-plated terminals are used for input terminals. In addition to ensuring a secure connection of speaker cables, this prevents deterioration of sound quality.

This re-release model reproduces the specifications of the previous release (December 2015) with domestic production in Japan.
