Uni is a Japanese made single driver monitor. Our 40 liter bass reflex cabinet is compatible with any Feastrex 5" driver. I have tuned the design to achieve balanced performance from a compact package.

The official Feastrex enclosure (F-60, about 60 liters) are large floorstanders that are very pleasant overall, however in my opinion, they do get a little boomy in the lower mids in order to extract lower bass cutoff without using a subwoofer.

So instead, Akiyama-san’s alternative original design, the triple port bass reflex design, at about 30 liters was instead the starting point of the Uni.

The Uni was designed with Dayton Woofer Tester III to measure the drivers and WinISD software to design a starting point for enclosure prototyping. The enclosure and port were then refined through further physical iterations, like all Blumenstein designs.

The resultant Uni are much smaller than the F-60, and the sound is tighter and more appropriate for handoff to a subwoofer or two. The internal bracing of an Uni enclosure is an appropriately heavy duty adaptation of what goes inside an Abby II, Triton, Orca, etc.

I understand these drivers well having built them myself. I provide personalized support to help you achieve your sonic goals. Feastrex has a long lineage as a brand, currently on it’s third set of owners.

Takeshi Sano began making drivers commercially at age 14 in the 1940’s, later named Exact Audio. Yukihito Akiyama purchased Exact Audio in the early 2000’s and renamed it Feastrex.

Feastrex is the most exotic, highest-end full range driver brand in the world. There is no other driver brand that is as sonically driven by nature in sourcing or making all their own parts.

Original MSRP for Feastrex drivers range between $4500/pr for the D5nf up to ~$45000 for the D5e Type III (and up from 8500/pr. for D9nf to ~$80,000/pr for the D9e Type III 9” models). (email to inquire about 9” sizes and enclosures)

Production for new Feastrex drivers themselves is currently being retooled under the new ownership. Newly produced drivers are still forthcoming but if you already have a pair of them, I’d be more than happy to build you a pair of Uni cabinets for them.

Uni fullrange speaker enclosures are each custom built to order. We do not offer refunds under any circumstances. All sales are final.
