Bass
89/100
In a desktop and small-room setup, the reviewer found the bass natural, articulate, and free of flabbiness or tubbiness. The side port was also said to avoid excessive wall reinforcement when placed close to a wall, although there is no direct commentary on very deep-bass extension.
Integration
92/100
The reviewer says the 800X blends “seamlessly” with Philharmonic speakers and calls the process easy. Its controlled, natural presentation was specifically credited with avoiding the exaggerated bass that can make matching a subwoofer more difficult.
Dynamics
86/100
The reviewer reports that the 800X can get the music pumping and play quite loud, indicating satisfying impact for its intended compact-system role. There is little evidence about its headroom in large rooms or at sustained extreme levels.
Build Quality
80/100
The cabinet is described as unremarkable, which is a clear concession at this price. However, the reviewer was notably impressed by the glass-fiber woofer and true rubber surround, calling it a genuinely high-quality driver.
Features Usability
90/100
The connectivity impressed the reviewer, with RCA, auxiliary, LFE, and high-level speaker inputs accommodating a wide range of systems. Adjustable level, crossover, and phase controls further help it work with compact amplifiers that lack a dedicated subwoofer output.
Value for Money
93/100
At $195.99, the reviewer calls the 800X a “tremendous value” and a strong solution for many small-room systems. While no direct competing models are compared, the review presents its performance and connectivity as especially compelling at this asking price.
