A bold new look for the award-winning speaker series

Arendal Sound is introducing the 1610 Black Edition, a bold new black finish for its
award-winning 1610 Series of high-performance loudspeakers.

Built around the same three-way architecture, acoustic engineering and design principles as the existing 1610 Series, the Black Edition gives listeners another way to bring the 1610 into their home and listening environment.

The new finish is being introduced with limited availability. It joins the existing Polar and Basalt finishes.

A Three-Way Design Built Around Clarity

The 1610 Series was developed around a true three-way loudspeaker architecture, with dedicated drivers for low, mid and high frequencies.

At its heart is the Røst Essence Acoustic Core, an elliptical waveguide that places the 28 mm aluminum-magnesium dome tweeter and the 5-inch dry carbon fiber midrange as close together as physically possible. The result is smooth, consistent dispersion and a large, stable soundstage, with exceptional clarity across the critical midrange, where vocals and instruments come to life. Bass is handled by an 8-inch aluminum cone woofer, engineered for deep extension, high excursion and low distortion.

A time-aligned curved front baffle angles every driver toward the listening position, so their output arrives in time and in phase for precise imaging and sharp dynamics. The cabinets combine a 46 mm laminated HDF baffle with extensive internal bracing for a rigid, resonance-free enclosure. A crossover built entirely from non-ferrous, high-grade components keeps the signal path pure.

The result is a loudspeaker series designed for both music and movies, with the dynamics and precision required for serious listening and home cinema.

Designed and Engineered in Norway

Arendal Sound approaches loudspeaker development as an engineering discipline. It balances dynamics, linearity, distortion, power handling, frequency response and off-axis performance rather than optimizing for a single specification.

With the Black Edition, Arendal Sound introduces a new finish without changing the engineering behind the 1610.

·       1610 Bookshelf 8 - a compact three-way loudspeaker designed to deliver full-range performance in smaller and medium-sized rooms.

·       1610 Slim 8 – a slimline three-way loudspeaker designed for on-wall or close-to-wall installation.

·       1610 Center 8– a three-way centre-channel design.

Availability
