Kharma Elegance dB9-Signature
Introduction
The Elegance dB9-Signature is the three-way system of the Elegance Collection. The shape of the cabinet is fully functional to the way the sound develops from the loudspeakers. The materials used increase the neutrality of the cabinet and the sound presentation, giving a very impressive detailed bass, which can be expected from a loudspeaker of this size.
In combination with the in-house developed Kharma Omega-7 driver as the midrange, the Elegance dB9-Signature becomes a class of its own. Where ultra high resolution in the midrange depict many layers and sound colors like in an excellent wine, where the complexity of the whole history of making this particular wine, can be tasted in a moment.
Detailed trimming
Every detail counts.
Therefore Kharma paid attention to not only technological details, but also aesthetical details. The trimming of the Elegance speakers has been designed with purpose and aligned with detail. These details can be found on every surface of the speaker, the front, the side and the back, and gives the Elegance speakers the finishing touch they deserve. The Elegance series have standard Silver trimming details, but can be produced with several different colour options.
Cabinet colors
A Kharma product should not only have an unbelievable refined sound, but should also have an astonishing finish to compete with the musicality of the system. Therefore Kharma has developed two programs to be able to fulfill all levels of customization.
Primary Stock Program
This program has been targeted as to create the shortest possible delivery time for the official Kharma products. This program is therefore based on the most popular Kharma finishes, Aubergine and Piano Black.
Kharma Optionary Program
The visual tuning in the Optionary Program will give the customer the opportunity to choose between special selected Kharma colours. These colours have a higher level of customization and therefore the delivery time is different than a Stock Program colour.

Compact but commanding, the Elegance dB9-Signature delivers room-filling, authoritative bass from dual 9" woofers, airy yet detailed beryllium treble, and a broad, immersive soundstage. Reviewer Jeff Fritz praised its dynamic, meaty presentation and refined build, making these speakers a compelling choice for listeners who want impact, clarity, and high-end materials in a surprisingly modest footprint.
Pros
- Powerful, room-energizing bass that extends to about 30Hz and drives large rooms with authority.
- Airy, high-resolution treble from a 1" beryllium tweeter that preserves fine percussive and bell detail.
- Generous, well-layered soundstage with long, natural decays that enhance imaging and musical realism.
- High-quality construction and Signature-level internals (35mm MDF cabinet, damping, solid-silver internal wiring) underpin the sonic performance.
&
Cons
- Tonal balance leans slightly toward the low end, so bass can be prominent and may overwhelm smaller rooms without careful placement.
- High asking price ($37,500/pair) means the value proposition is weaker compared with many competitors.
Sound Quality
93/100
Weighted average of sub-criteria below.
Bass
95/100
Dual 9" aluminium woofers and a reported 26 Hz–30 kHz range produce authoritative, room-energizing bass: reviewer: 'their 9" woofers could easily energize my listening room' and 'good down to about 30Hz...with authority.' The reviewer also noted a slightly prominent bass tilt, which prevents an absolutist reference score but supports an excellent-to-exceptional bass grade for a large-tower design.
Mid
91/100
Midrange is clear and revealing: 'midrange was clear...revealed plenty of detail' and vocal timbre is 'forthright -- clear yet dense.' Slight recession relative to the emphasized bass keeps this just below the absolute top tier.
Treble
92/100
True beryllium tweeter provides airy, lively treble with good detail: 'airy and lively enough' and bells reproduced with 'bell-like clarity.' Not described as the absolute airiest, so scored very high but not reference level.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Generous, well-layered soundstage: 'cast a large soundstage that extended past the outer boundaries' and long, audible reverberation after drum strokes indicate wide depth and sustain, supporting an excellent imaging score.
Dynamics
95/100
Highly dynamic presentation: reviewer was 'startled by the transient crispness' and noted the speakers 'track[ed] this recording's wide dynamic range' and described the sound as 'dynamic, meaty, and detailed.' Dynamics are a standout strength.

Build Quality
94/100
Impressive construction and internal engineering: 'no evidence of poor workmanship,' 35mm-thick MDF cabinets lined with damping material, and signature-level internal wiring noted. The reviewer explicitly praised the build and visual presentation.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied. Signature model includes improved internal solid-silver wiring but uses single-wire-only binding posts (spades only), so no bi-wire/bi-amp advantages; baseline passive score retained.
Value for Money
72/100
At $37,500/pair the reviewer explicitly noted this is not a tremendous value: 'I can't claim that the Kharma is a tremendous value...you can get great sound for less money elsewhere.' That language maps to a concerned/negative value assessment despite high performance.
