Design

The KALA 22 delivers the compelling musicality that Antipodes Server-Streamers are famous for, with a full array of signal outputs, at a more affordable cost.

Every panel in the KALA 22 is precision machined from a thick solid plate of premium alloy for a perfect fit and finish, and outstanding vibration control.

Technology

The KALA 22 employs a single computer to perform both the Server and Player stages, with state-of-the-art signal processing. The computer power limitations of the KALA 22 mean it can not be used for DSP or to manage libraries over about 8TB, whether on internal or external storage. For the same reason, HQPlayer Server cannot be used on the KALA 22. Used within its limitations, the KALA 22 will sound as pleasingly musical as a KALA 50, but the KALA 50 will add layers of musical insight to the performance on a revealing system.

Server/Player

Employing just a single computer stage limits musical insight and detail when compared to our higher-priced models, but the KALA 22 excels in dynamics, natural timbre, saturated tonal density and immersive musical expression.

Processing

The output signal is isolated, regenerated and reclocked using state of the art circuits and reference clocks, to provide a full range of digital audio outputs.

Upgrade Path

Adding a KALA 41 to a KALA 22 matches the functionality and performance of the KALA 50, adding layers of musical insight compared to using just a K22, making this a very attractive upgrade option.
