Totem Acoustic Element Fire V2
Even Hotter
This Fire is hotter than ever before.
Efficiency, bass response, and power handling specifications imply Fire V2 is a hulking tower rather than the statuesque monitor it is. Now powered by next generation Torrent woofers, it is meticulously refined to redefine the category.
The proprietary magnetic design of Totem’s own Torrent woofers require absolutely no crossover components and allows an unadulterated flow of musical energy. The effect is felt as much as it is heard, simultaneously stimulating a physical and even emotional interaction as one listens.
Correspondingly radical tweeter design balances the Torrent spectrum with sparkling clarity, natural phase, and striking accuracy on and off axis.
Some speakers can be the centerpiece of the favorite family area, others the focal point of a dedicated listening room, some the core of a serious recording studio. Fire V2 can – and will – do it all.

Totem's Exclusive Torrent Driver
Totem Torrent drivers are among the most advanced drivers in the world and represent Totem’s relentless drive to push the boundaries of sonic performance. The driver cradle is outfitted with seventeen 2.5-inch long neodymium magnets which employ a proprietary topology in the way they are magnetized. Incredibly, the Torrent drivers do not require a crossover in their complete frequency path, allowing a completely uninterrupted signal flow. Sonically, these drivers offer a midrange with staggering articulation, organic harmonics, speed, clarity and detail extraction. Please check out our Torrent Technology page to learn more details about the design of these remarkable drivers.
Titanium Dome Tweeter
The titanium dome tweeter is engineered to perfectly match the performance of the Torrent driver. Its chassis, which consists of the front plate and the rear fins, is constructed out of a single solid piece of metal which allows it to behave as a large radiator that is very efficient at keeping the tweeter stable and cool. This tweeter is designed to produce gigantic imaging that does not shift about in the listening position, even during huge dynamic contrasts and swings.
Unique Cabinet Construction
The Element V2 loudspeaker cabinets feature a complex geometric design, without any parallel surfaces. This design allows the cabinets to have a certain amount of energy that quickly dissipates, harmoniously aiding with the spatial attributes offered by the speakers and without blurring the image or reducing the dynamics. Borosilicate paint on the inside of the cabinets acts like a radiator and maintains cabinet stability and sonic performance for the lifetime of the speakers, unlike traditional fillers used by most speakers, which decay over time.
WBT Platinum Bi-Wire Speaker Terminals
The Element V2 loudspeakers are outfitted with the coveted WBT Platinum Bi-Wire speaker terminals. The aluminum terminal plate is custom machined and annealed to reduce reverb. The speaker terminals offer adequate spacing for increased comfort when connecting speaker cables.
Magnetic Grilles
The included grilles attach to the front baffles using hidden magnets which allows the front of the speaker to achieve a perfectly clean and minimalist appearance.

Totem's Element Fire V2 is a compact monitor that delivers astonishing deep, controlled bass and an expansive, holographic soundstage; its hand‑assembled 7" Torrent driver and first‑order tweeter crossover provide punch, speed and a natural midrange. Reviewers at hi-fi+ and SoundStage Solo note its scale and refined treble.
Pros
- Remarkably deep, well-controlled bass for a small standmount — extends down near 30Hz and integrates cleanly with the midrange.
- Very large, holographic soundstage with excellent lateral width and imaging that makes cabinets ‘disappear’ in many rooms.
- Natural, open midrange and refined treble with controlled dynamics — vocals and instruments have convincing body and clarity.
&
Cons
- To reach the deepest bass potential the speakers benefit from a high‑current amplifier; weaker amps may limit bottom‑octave extension.
- Finish is high‑gloss and visually striking but can be finger‑mark and scratch sensitive — requires careful handling.
- Top‑end character can be setup‑dependent; toe‑in and room placement affect perceived treble balance and edge.

Bass
93/100
Multiple reviewers praise unusually deep, well controlled low end for a small standmount, with a claimed 30Hz extension and ported tuning—’go deep’ and ‘deepest, most natural bass I have heard from a small standmount’ (The Ear, ToneAudio). Ported design and driver size (7") contribute; reviewers note it still benefits from a high-current amp or optional sub for the very lowest organ/power demands.
Mid
92/100
Consistently described as neutral, open and natural with excellent tonal purity and body (SoundStage Solo, Audiophilia, The Ear). Reviewers cite smooth, convincing vocal and instrument timbre and minimal coloration thanks to the Torrent driver and cabinet design.
Treble
89/100
Ti-dome tweeter delivers air and detail with generally natural, non-harsh presentation (The Ear, ToneAudio), though a few reviews note treble can be a touch dependent on toe-in/angle and recording—mis-angled setups may sound a little edgy (ToneAudio, hi-fi+).
Soundstage Imaging
93/100
Many reviews highlight a very large, holographic soundstage with excellent width and depth—cabinets ‘disappear’ and imaging is often described as expansive and three-dimensional (The Ear, hi-fi+, SoundStage Solo). Works especially well placed away from tight corners.
Dynamics
90/100
Speakers are praised for speed, control and the ability to play loud without compression; reviewers noted propulsive bass and crisp transients (The Ear, hi-fi+, The Absolute Sound). Some competitive designs may exhibit slightly more ‘snap’, but Fires favor control over theatrical slam.

Build Quality
90/100
High-quality fit-and-finish, hand-assembled Torrent drivers, multi-coat lacquer and premium WBT terminals are repeatedly praised (hi-fi+, Alpha Audio, Audiophilia). A few comments note the cabinet can sound lighter/hollow on a knuckle rap, but overall craftsmanship and finishes are excellent.
Features Connectivity
82/100
Passive bookshelf baseline applied (80) plus +2 for bi-wireable platinum WBT four-way connectors documented across reviews (The Ear, hi-fi+, Alpha Audio). No penalty for no DSP/app; crossover is simple first-order on the tweeter only.
Value for Money
93/100
Reviewers across outlets call them an exceptional value at their price points—phrases include ‘worth every penny’, ‘a steal’, and an ‘Exceptional Value’ award (hi-fi+, ToneAudio, The Ear). Multiple price reports (varying by market) still conclude strong performance-to-price.
