The DX3 Pro+ pairs a silent, transparent DAC stage with punchy dynamics, expansive imaging and enough clean power for most headphones. Cheap Audio Man found it fuller and smoother than the DX5, while Prime Audio Reviews praised its detailed, spacious delivery. USB, optical, dual coaxial and high-resolution Bluetooth make this compact all-in-one a standout desktop hub.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Clean, low-noise, neutral sound with strong detail, dynamics and instrument separation.
Fuller, warmer and less sibilant presentation than the DX5 in direct comparison, with stronger bass presence.
Versatile connectivity includes USB, optical, dual coaxial, RCA output, remote control and LDAC/aptX HD Bluetooth.
Exceptional all-in-one value around $200, with ample power for the vast majority of headphones.
&
Cons
The single-ended 3.5 mm headphone output limits compatibility with balanced headphone cables and may require an adapter for 6.35 mm plugs.
Very inefficient headphones may benefit from a more powerful dedicated amplifier.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 92/100
Reviewers describe a clean, neutral and transparent presentation that remains engaging through strong rhythm, punch and bass definition. It is also praised for a spacious stage, strong separation and a smoother, fuller and more organic character than the DX5 in one direct comparison.
Tonal Balance and Musicality
92/100
Joshua Valour found the tonality clean, clear and free of an obvious imposed flavor. Cheap Audio Man preferred it to the DX5 for its fuller, warmer, thicker and more organic sound, while Prime Audio Reviews praised its rhythm, drive and convincing bass instruments.
Resolution and Detail
91/100
Prime Audio Reviews calls the DAC transparent, neutral and very detailed, with well-defined guitar edges. The same review reports an expansive stage and fantastic instrument separation on both headphones and speakers.
Digital Performance
93/100
Prime Audio Reviews reports very low distortion and a very low noise floor, describing the result as neutral and transparent. Joshua Valour likewise heard an exceptionally clean, effectively silent noise floor even with highly efficient IEMs, alongside excellent dynamic range.

Build Quality
84/100
Joshua Valour considers the compact unit's construction perfectly fine for its price. Cheap Audio Man notes a satisfying volume-control action and a decent, if basic, LED display; reviewers say little about chassis materials, internal layout or long-term durability.
Features Connectivity
80/100
The DX3 Pro+ combines USB, optical and two coaxial inputs with RCA output, Bluetooth and a supplied remote. It adds selectable filters, gain settings, a headphone output and display, while Bluetooth support includes LDAC, aptX HD, aptX LL, AAC and SBC.
Value for Money
95/100
At around $199-$200, reviewers repeatedly position the DX3 Pro+ as an unusually compelling all-in-one DAC/headphone amplifier. Joshua Valour calls it possibly the best $200 DAC/amp available even against stacks, while Prime Audio Reviews says very little at the price can match its DAC, headphone-amp and line-out performance.
