Textured bass, convincing clarity and an upbeat sense of rhythm give the Technics EAH-AZ60M2 an engaging, expressive character. What Hi-Fi? also highlights secure comfort enabled by seven tip sizes and rare three-device multipoint, while LDAC support rounds out a polished, competitively priced true-wireless package with real everyday versatility.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Pros
Engaging, well-rounded sound with textured, weighty bass, clear detail and expressive dynamics.
Comfortable, stable fit supported by an unusually generous seven-size ear-tip selection.
Three-device multipoint switching works smoothly and is a standout convenience feature.
&
Cons
Leading rivals deliver a punchier, more dynamically satisfying sound.
Noise cancelling is decent for the price but can allow some unwanted noise through.
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 87/100
The AZ60M2 are described as spirited, engaging and genuinely competitive-sounding, with particular strengths in bass texture and expressive, agile handling of music. The review also hears useful clarity and space, though it offers limited direct detail on vocal tuning, treble behavior and precise imaging.
Bass
90/100
What Hi-Fi hears both texture and weight in bass plucks, rather than a blunt or one-note low end. Lighter accompaniment remains delicate around the bass material, supporting the reviewer's view of a well-rounded and engaging presentation.
Midrange
85/100
The review finds the overall presentation clear, tactile and expressive, with piano texture coming through convincingly. It does not provide detailed commentary on vocal placement, upper-midrange energy or instrumental timbre across a wider range of recordings.
Treble
85/100
The supplied review characterizes the overall sound as clear and competitive, without reporting harshness or fatigue. It says little directly about treble extension, air, sibilance or cymbal decay, however.
Resolution Separation
88/100
What Hi-Fi specifically notes space, tactility and clarity, and finds that the Technics can reveal a glossy piano texture with real expression. Those observations suggest solid detail retrieval without claiming exceptional analysis of the densest mixes.
Soundstage Imaging
85/100
The review hears worthwhile space around the performance, helping simple arrangements feel open rather than congested. There is no detailed assessment of stage depth, image placement or positional precision.
Dynamics Coherence
89/100
The AZ60M2 handle a track's dramatic peaks and troughs with respectable agility, while retaining nuance in quieter expressive material. The review also praises their sense of dynamics and expression, pointing to a cohesive, lively delivery.
FIT COMFORT ISOLATION PERFORMANCE 88/100
Fit is a notable strength: the broad tip selection helps users find a secure seal, and the reviewer reports neither serious discomfort nor dislodging once fitted correctly. The supplied review does not directly test isolation or noise-cancelling effectiveness.
Seal Stability
90/100
Technics includes seven ear-tip sizes from XXS to XL, substantially more than many rival earbuds. What Hi-Fi reports no dislodging after selecting suitable tips, indicating a dependable fit for the reviewer.
Comfort
89/100
The earbuds are reported to fit comfortably, with no serious discomfort during the review. They lack the more premium ergonomic contouring of Technics' AZ80 flagship, but that did not create a practical comfort problem here.
Isolation
85/100
The extensive tip range and successful fit should help users achieve the acoustic seal needed for everyday use. The review does not directly assess passive isolation or the performance of the active noise cancellation system.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Accessories
87/100
What Hi-Fi calls the build quality utterly satisfactory and describes a practical drop-shaped housing, mostly plastic with a smooth metallic exterior touch surface. The seven included tip sizes are a genuinely useful accessory advantage, while long-term durability and app performance are not covered in the supplied review.
Value for Money
89/100
At roughly $200-$250, the AZ60M2 sit toward the lower end of the pricing scale against their key true-wireless rivals. What Hi-Fi considers them a competitive alternative to market-leading earbuds, supporting the view that their asking price is well justified.
