SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase
The big, clean dynamics and surprisingly authoritative bass make this compact streaming amp feel far larger than it looks. Jim Milton and Michael Zisserson praised its grip, while Dennis Burger highlighted its versatile connectivity. With HDMI eARC, AirPlay 2, and Chromecast, it’s a feature-packed hub that turns passive speakers into a modern, high-impact system.

Pros
Delivers strong, room-filling dynamics and enough power to drive demanding speakers without strain.
Offers excellent bass control and a generally smooth, neutral-to-warm sound signature.
Brings unusually rich connectivity for the size, including HDMI ARC/eARC, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, and wired inputs/outputs.
Cons
Play-Fi setup and day-to-day use can be frustrating, with reports of slow response and finicky network behavior.
Some reviewers wanted more fine detail, sparkle, and soundstage depth than the amp delivers in its best competition.
Missing conveniences such as a dedicated phono input and bass management limit plug-and-play flexibility for vinyl and subwoofer users.

What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 90/100
Reviewers consistently describe a clean, engaging, and surprisingly capable sound for the size and price. The amp is praised for neutral-to-warm balance, strong bass control, open presentation, and enough refinement to avoid obvious harshness or strain, with only minor comments about a slight lack of sparkle or polish in places.
Transparency Resolution
88/100
Several reviews point to a revealing, low-noise presentation with good fidelity and no obvious added distortion or haze. One reviewer notes that its sins lean more toward a lack of fine detail than additive problems, so it sounds clean and capable without being the last word in microscopic resolution.
Tonal Balance Musicality
91/100
The tonal balance is repeatedly described as neutral, warm, smooth, and non-offensive, with natural horns, strings, and voices. Reviewers also praise its musical flow and long-term listenability, while noting only a little less sparkle than some familiar references.
Dynamics
92/100
This is one of the SoundBase’s clearest strengths. Reviewers describe serious low-distortion power, strong drive and propulsion, preserved punch, and the ability to get loud without thinning out or sounding pinched, even with bigger speakers.
Soundstage Imaging
89/100
The soundstage is described as big and spacious, with a nice sense of air and room to breathe. Imaging precision is generally strong, though Bluetooth is singled out as slightly less precise than the other inputs, and the most lavish praise is reserved for space and scale rather than holographic depth.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Build Quality
88/100
Reviewers describe the chassis as compact yet remarkably robust, with good tactile feel from the knobs and reassuring binding posts. They also note that it runs cool even after extended use and that the packaging and internal handling feel thoughtful.
Features Connectivity
94/100
This is very well equipped: HDMI ARC/eARC, optical, RCA in and out, 3.5mm input, sub out, headphone output, Ethernet, USB service power, IR input, remote control, Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC/aptX, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Play-Fi streaming. Reviewers also highlight the built-in high-resolution DAC and flexible integration as both a streamer and TV/speaker hub.
Value for Money
94/100
At $699, reviewers repeatedly frame it as a strong buy for what it delivers, calling it a spectacular value and a smart sweet spot. The combination of strong sound, serious connectivity, and system-in-one convenience makes it look especially competitive against pricier streamers, soundbars, and separate boxes.
