Sonus Faber Sonetto v
Classic Artisanship, Unique Character
Sonetto V represents a fusion of technological innovation to create a sound so engaging it captures the passion of music
A DISTINCTIVE TIMBRE
Sonetto V, a 3-way floorstanding speaker, embodies the core design principles of Sonus faber with an intense and lively voice. It captures the dramatic elements of sound to craft a steadfast soundstage.
CLASSIC DESIGN
The lute shape that characterizes many Sonus faber models has been redesigned to ensure perfect control over internal resonances.
A PERSONALITY OF ITS OWN
Sonetto brings together Sonus faber’s core design principles in an elegant silhouette.
CORK
The special combination of tweeter and midrange drivers is housed within a distinctive cork chamber specifically tailored for internal volume, aiming to elevate the drivers' performance. Inherited from the flagship Suprema speaker, the acoustic characteristics of this material significantly contribute to the clarity and organic sound of the midrange output.
CAMELIA MIDRANGE SPEAKER
Initially developed for Suprema, the Camelia midrange speaker features the organic basket with a membrane inspired by the shape of the camelia flower. Its shape, with its five cuts, avoids the resonances found in typical circular shapes and enhances the Natural Sound signature to Sonus faber. The membrane is left unpainted to ensure total sound purity.
45° WOOD
The wood veneer with the 45° finish, familiar in prestigious products such as Stradivari, Amati, and the entire Homage series, is also found in the design new Sonetto G2 collection. The 45° angle wood veneer enriches the style of this unique collection and accentuates the hand-crafted artisanry of Sonus faber.
FLOWER PATTERNED SURROUND
The rubber driver surround utilizes a unique floral pattern that encases the sandwich cone structure of the Sonetto V woofers. Its asymmetric shape breaks the circular modes of the driver and ensures greater linearity in sound reproduction, reducing interference and improving sound dispersion.
tweeter copper cup
The tweeter in the Sonetto G2 collection features state-of-the-art Silk Dome DAD™ (Damped Apex Dome) technology. With a response extending beyond 30kHz, made possible by the incorporation of a copper cup, the tweeter reproduces the finest nuances in the audio spectrum, ensuring exceptional clarity and detail in the pristine sound reproduction of Sonetto V

93/100
Dual 6.5" woofers in a vented cabinet deliver deep, authoritative low end (reviews cite 35–38 Hz claim, ample room-filling bass, and tight control). Several reviewers noted party-level output without cone bottoming and convincing extension; one reviewer noted a slight mid-bass richness/blur versus the tightest rivals but overall praised depth and punch.

Extended, revealing treble with good air and detail; described as non-bright and generally smooth. A few notes of very-top-frequency etch were reported by one reviewer, but overall the tweeter delivers refined, detailed highs.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
Wide, deep, and three-dimensional staging with strong layering and image focus mentioned across reviews. Some comparisons note slightly smaller scale than much larger/ pricier models, but imaging is consistently described as compelling and spacious.
