A harmony of power and elegance.

The most compact floor-standing loudspeaker in the Sonetto G2 Collection, Sonetto III packs impressive power.

A SOUND THAT SURPRISES

With its slender figure and exceptional power, Sonetto III combines design and innovation. A sophisticated 2.5-way system showcases the new flower-patterned suspension mid-woofer, meticulously designed by the Sonus faber DesignLab in Italy. This development process ensures that every aspect of the speaker's performance is carefully honed to deliver an unparalleled listening experience

DECEPTIVELY SLIM, IMPRESSIVELY STRONG

Looks can be deceiving. Despite its slim dimensions, Sonetto III has the commanding presence of a much larger speaker, thanks to advanced technologies and design solutions. Its exquisite aesthetic appeal has been enhanced with a new concrete base, designed for improved structural integrity and effortless installation.

ORGANIC BASKET

Designed and developed in Sonus faber laboratories, the die cast baskets have been designed from scratch specifically for this collection.

CLASSIC DESIGN

The lute shape that characterizes many Sonus faber models has been redesigned to ensure the delivery of the perfect control over internal resonances.

SLENDER YET MIGHTY

Sonetto brings together Sonus faber’s core design principles in an elegant silhouette.

THE VOICE OF SONUS FABER

The distinctive flower design of the midwoofer rubber suspension, working together with the Damped Apex Dome (DAD) soft dome tweeter, defines the iconic "Voice of Sonus faber." Inspired by the power of nature, Sonetto III delivers pure, high-fidelity audio reproduction through our signature Natural Sound.

CONCRETE BASE

With the introduction of a new concrete base, the Sonetto G2 series not only enhances the stability of its speakers but also reinforces their structural integrity. This innovative addition provides a solid foundation that minimizes vibrations and ensures optimal performance, particularly in demanding listening environments.

BINDING POST COVER

The round binding post cover, adorned with the Sonus faber logo and available on all Sonetto G2 models – except Sonetto Wall - serves both a functional and decorative purpose. Designed specifically for bi-wiring binding posts, the cover ensures the integrity of the connections while adding a touch of refinement to the rear panel of the speakers.

PHASE COHERENT

The Phase Coherent Crossover design philosophy implemented in the Sonetto G2 Collection ensures precise synchronization of the drivers' phase rotations, striving for maximum parallelism. This meticulous alignment results in an immersive soundstage that is incredibly defined and palpable, allowing audiophiles to experience music with a heightened sense of realism.

Deliciously Crispy

Sonus Faber Sonetto III excels with an exemplary midrange that delivers natural, highly resolving vocals and a lifelike, three‑dimensional imaging experience. Refined treble and room‑friendly bass sit inside superb Italian build quality, combining analytical insight with musical warmth — reviewers at HomeTheaterHifi and Simon Lucas note its transparency and craftsmanship.

HomeTheaterHifi

"The speakers' ability to disappear into the musical soundstage was downright mesmerizing."

Pros

  • Highly resolving, natural midrange and vocal clarity that puts performers front and center.
  • Wide, three‑dimensional imaging with stable, well‑defined placement and impressive soundstage depth.
  • Furniture‑grade Italian fit-and-finish — lute‑shaped cabinets, leather top and a concrete plinth that convey premium build quality.

Cons

  • Limited deep‑bass extension on some tracks; larger rooms may benefit from a subwoofer to reach the lowest octaves.
  • Speakers can reveal weaknesses in recordings and electronics; they pair best with quality amplification and careful system matching.

Bass

93/100

Dual 6.5" driver configuration (2.5-way) yields punchy, textured low end with claimed extension to ~38Hz. Reviews repeatedly praise deep, detailed bass and room-filling impact for modest rooms but note limited absolute extension on some tracks and that a sub may be beneficial in larger rooms.

Mid

96/100

Multiple reviewers call the midrange exemplary: neutral, highly resolving and natural-sounding with smooth vocal timbre. The dedicated mid driver and flat mid response (+/-1 dB) support exceptional transparency and musicality.

Treble

93/100

Airy, extended and well-controlled treble that remains polite at high levels; reviewers note detail without harshness and a refined, delicate top end inherited from higher-tier drivers.

Soundstage Imaging

95/100

Consistently praised for three-dimensional, wide and deep imaging; speakers often 'disappear' and present stable, well-defined images, though one review noted a slightly more introverted delivery compared with more expansive designs.

Dynamics

94/100

Strong micro- and macro-dynamic ability — attentive to small harmonic changes and capable of big shifts with authority. Maintains composure at realistic listening levels; only limited loss of control reported at extreme volumes in large rooms.

Build Quality

97/100

Exquisite Italian build: lute-shaped cabinets, leather-trimmed baffle, concrete plinth and superb veneers. Multiple reviewers highlight top-tier fit-and-finish and furniture-quality appearance that justify pride of ownership.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive floorstander baseline applied. Robust binding posts and bottom/forward-folding port for placement flexibility are noted, but no bi-wire terminals or DSP/streaming features.

Value for Money

90/100

At ~$3,999/pair reviewers find the Sonetto III a strong proposition: exceptional build, midrange and overall musicality justify the price though there are competitors with bigger sound for the money; overall judged well worth auditioning.
