Small Stature, Monumental Sound

Discreet dimensions with a deceptively powerful sound.

SONIC EXCELLENCE IN A COMPACT DESIGN

Olympica Nova II, the most compact floorstanding speaker of the Olympica Nova collection, delivers impactful, size-defying sound.

NUANCE AND SOPHISTICATION

With its advanced driver technology, the Olympica Nova III delivers pristine clarity, musicality, and fidelity.

PRECISE CRAFTSMANSHIP

Olympica Nova II's 3-way design embraces our Natural Sound ethos, emphasizing the use of natural materials. The hand-finished wood is used on the front baffle and cabinet sides, set within a robust die-cast aluminum plate. The rings surrounding the woofers feature exquisite Italian leather, meticulously applied by hand in our Vicenza, Italy factory.

PURE SONUS FABER DESIGN

Olympica Nova unites Sonus faber’s iconic design queues in a clean, musical silhouette.

WARM AND ENGAGING SOUND

Sonus faber’s core technologies fuse with signature design queues in a clean silhouette to deliver uncompromising Natural Sound.

REFLEX PORT

The solid extruded aluminum piece, part of the Stealth Ultraflex system, minimizes turbulence, enhancing airflow through the duct to reduce distortion.

STRUCTURAL RIGIDITY

Olympica Nova II features eight layers of curved wood in its walls, enhancing cabinet rigidity for reduced interference. Internal structural ribs further reduce vibration and support the transducers' power.

MADE IN ITALY WOOFER

Our Italian-made woofer cone utilizes an exclusive sandwich construction, combining two sheets of cellulose pulp with a hi-tech foam layer in between. This unique design ensures swift and powerful sound reproduction while maintaining coherence with the mid-high units.

MIDRANGE

Our midrange is a product of Sonus faber's in-house laboratories. Crafted from a blend of air-dried cellulose pulp and other natural fibers, the cone boasts a unique texture with varying density. This design minimizes cone resonance, resulting in a natural sound that offers enhanced transparency and finer detail.

DAMPED APEX DOME TWEETER

The 28 mm silk soft dome tweeter utilizes Damped Apex Dome (D.A.D.) technology, which refines high-frequency playback by adding localized dampening to the dome's apex, known for causing anti-phase behavior in soft dome diaphragms. In Olympica Nova V, the D.A.D. structure is now a single piece of die-cast aluminum, enhancing both the strength and precision of the system.

Deliciously Crispy

A gorgeously detailed midrange anchors the Sonus Faber Olympica Nova II, pairing a wide, holographic soundstage with surprisingly authoritative low end via the Stealth Ultraflex port. Reviewers from HomeTheaterHifi, Enjoy The Music and Part Time Audiophile praise its refined imaging and showroom-level craftsmanship, making it a standout compact floorstander.

Audiophilepure

"It was as if the speakers didn’t exist, just the musicians."

Pros

  • Stunning, highly detailed midrange with natural vocal presence and coherence across the crossover.
  • Wide, holographic three-dimensional soundstage and precise imaging that remain stable even off-axis.
  • Exemplary build quality and luxurious finishes—cabinet work, leather and metal detailing are repeatedly praised.

&

Cons

  • Lowest organ/piano fundamentals are beyond the Nova II's ~40Hz extension; serious sub-bass demands may require a subwoofer or larger model.
  • Nominal 4Ω impedance and moderate sensitivity mean the speakers benefit from a high-current, powerful amplifier for best dynamics.

Bass

92/100

Goes cleanly to ~40Hz with Sonus Faber's para-aperiodic "Stealth Ultraflex" porting; multiple reviewers praise surprisingly authoritative, well-timed low end for the cabinet size though not earth-shaking organ-level extension. Strong weight and groove reported with powerful amplification, but some note deepest organ/piano fundamentals are a stretch.

Mid

95/100

Consistently singled out as the speaker's strongest attribute: stunning, sweet and highly detailed midrange with excellent vocal presence and coherence across the crossover. Multiple reviews call it one of the best midranges at this price and highlight seductive upper-mid clarity.

Treble

92/100

Articulate, extended and refined treble that is slightly softened relative to ultra-bright monitors; reviewers note sparkle and air without harshness and an outstandingly flat, extended tweeter response in measurements.

Soundstage Imaging

95/100

Frequently described as holographic and highly three-dimensional with wide, deep imaging and stable focus; reviewers report wall-to-wall staging and uncanny placement and layering even off-axis.

Dynamics

92/100

Fast, controlled delivery with good micro- and macro-dynamic contrast; retains detail at low levels and handles high drive without sounding strained, with reviewers noting strong slam when paired with capable amplifiers.

Build Quality

96/100

Exemplary Italian craftsmanship: flawless fit-and-finish, high-quality materials (wood, leather, metal details) and high-end binding posts; reviewers repeatedly liken the cabinets to fine furniture or Italian sports-car level attention to detail.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive floorstander baseline applied. Offers bi-wire/bi-amp capable custom binding posts and Sonus Faber's Stealth Ultraflex resistive porting; no DSP/app expected or penalized.

Value for Money

88/100

Multiple reviewers praise the performance-to-looks ratio and call it strong value at the commonly-cited $10k/pair price; at the product-data price point (~$13.5k) the value remains good but slightly less emphatic versus peers.
