Schiit Audio Gjallarhorn F
Ever wanted an ultra-high-end speaker amp—in a compact size perfect for desktops and smaller rooms? Have you wished for a dead-silent, no-hiss amp for nearfield listening—that’s still capable of driving most speakers to lease-breaking levels? Wish no more. Welcome to Gjallarhorn.
Less Power, More Better
There are plenty of big-number amps out there, but how much of that do you really use? How loud before the neighbors complain? How old does the constant hiss of a high-gain amp get with the speakers a few feet away? Gjallarhorn was designed to deliver exceptional performance, without the downsides. Or, as we put it: less power, more better.
Exotic, Fully Discrete Topology
Gjallarhorn may be smaller than our other amps, but that doesn’t mean it skimps on quality. It features an exotic, fully discrete, current feedback gain stage with our exclusive Continuity S™ output stage, as well as a fully linear power supply—including a toroidal transformer with stacked rails and 30,000uF of filter capacitance. No Class D, no switching supplies, no fans. Pick it up—it’s a heavyweight!
Forkbeard™: Power Output, System Health, Remote Standby
Add Forkbeard to Gjallarhorn, and you'll get all the benefits of the only multi-product, multi-stack, unified control system. One iOS app gives you complete visibility of instant power output, health alerts, remote control of Standby mode, and integrates with many other Schiit products for advanced capabilities like Visual Volume™.
Flexible for Desktop and Beyond
Combine Gjallarhorn with any of our headphone amps to add power for nearfield monitors, or pair with Saga 2 for an exceptional small-room system. Have balanced preamp outputs? You can use them with a pair of Gjallarhorns, for additional power and capability.
Designed and Built in the USA
By “designed and built in the USA" this is what we mean: the vast majority of the total production cost of Gjallarhorn—chassis, boards, assembly, etc—goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. Our chassis are made in California. Our PCBs are made in California or Nevada, and it all comes together in our San Antonio facility.
5-Year Warranty, Easy Returns
Gjallarhorn is covered by a 5-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor. And if you don’t like your Gjallarhorn, you can send it back for a refund, minus 5% restocking fee, within 15 days of receiving it.

Schiit Audio Gjallarhorn F — compact, transparent power
The Gjallarhorn F is a desk-friendly, low-power Class A/B power amplifier that delivers impressive clarity, neutral tonal balance and surprisingly authoritative bass for its size. Reviewers led by Paul Rigby praise its near-field prowess, expansive imaging and extremely low noise, and note that running two as monoblocks unlocks additional headroom for larger rooms. Measured specs (very low THD, >117dB SNR, robust transformer and filter capacitance) back up the transparent, controlled presentation and dynamic feel. The 9" x 6" footprint and solid engineering make it easy to integrate on a desk; thermal behavior is benign at typical volumes. Ideal for desktop systems, small listening rooms or anyone seeking a neutral, high-value power amp. The Gjallarhorn F stands out as a genuine value play that punches above its power class.
Pros
- Very low noise, transparent midrange and open treble that reveal detail and vocal clarity.
- Excellent near-field dynamics and imaging—wide, clean soundstage with strong instrument separation.
- Monoblock capability provides much more headroom (30W mono) and system flexibility for larger rooms.
- Outstanding value — performance and engineering that outperforms expectations for the price.
&
Cons
- Stereo output (10W into 8Ω) can run out of headroom in large rooms — it can 'strain' when pushed hard.
- Monoblock mode requires a balanced preamp and extra cabling, adding cost and system complexity for some users.

Dynamics
89/100
Despite modest stereo ratings (10W/8Ω), reviewers repeatedly describe the Gjallarhorn as 'making a big noise' and 'heroic' when used near-field, and the monoblock configuration (30W/8Ω) delivers noticeably more headroom. Spec'd damping factor >100 and very low distortion/SNR back up the subjective sense of control and slam; one reviewer notes it 'handles the lot' although a stereo 10W setup 'strains a bit.' The monoblock capability and strong power-supply specs (80VA transformer, 30,000µF caps) justify a high dynamics score relative to its low-power class.
Soundstage Imaging
90/100
Multiple reviews call out an expansive, clean soundstage with excellent instrument separation ('wider and cleaner than the Brio', 'impressive instrumental separation', 'synth's sense of isolation'). The amp preserves imaging even while delivering strong near-field impact, indicating excellent spatial performance for a compact low-power design.

Build Quality
88/100
Hardware specs (80VA transformer, 30,000µF filter capacitance, CFP-regulated supplies, microprocessor protection) and reviewers' notes on a small, well-engineered footprint support a high build score. Reviewers highlight the flexible, desk-friendly form factor and monoblock option; thermal behavior is benign ('slightly warm at typical volumes'), with no major mechanical or reliability concerns raised.
Value for Money
96/100
Reviewers use very strong value language — 'stupidly low price', 'incredible value for money', 'genuine giant killers' — and compare performance favorably to more expensive rivals. At roughly $299 per unit (product data) / ~£600 for a pair as cited in review, the consensus is that the Gjallarhorn punches well above its price, justifying a near-top-tier value score.
