The RA-1572MKII Integrated Amplifier brings your music to life with exceptional fidelity delivering 120 Watts of Class AB output into 8 ohms with deep, controlled bass energy. The audiophile grade DAC, analog, digital, aptXTM and AAC Bluetooth, PC-USB supporting MQA and Moving Magnet Phono stage ensure exceptional detail and immersive soundstage.

The RA-1572MKII Integrated Amplifier is an essential component for music lovers leveraging the best of Rotel’s analog and digital technologies bringing music to life with exceptional fidelity. The role of an integrated amplifier continues to evolve with the RA-1572MKII optimized in every aspect including the power amplifier delivering 120 Watts of robust Class AB output into 8 ohms, audio circuit design innovations, premium audiophile Digital to Analog Converter and a full complement of source inputs.

As typical of Rotel amplifiers, the RA-1572MKII utilizes an in-house manufactured oversized toroidal transformer. The toroidal transformer’s shape helps prevent stray radiation patterns from corrupting audio signals as they pass through adjacent circuits. The transformer feeds a bank of 4 low ESR, high efficiency, T-Network slit-foil storage capacitors for deep, controlled bass energy.

The RA-1572MKII support digital sources utilizing a Texas Instruments 32-bit/384kHz DAC with critically tuned output filter circuits rendering even the most subtle detail. The preamplifier circuits and linear amplifier gain stages have been custom engineered ensuring natural detail, agility and an immersive soundstage. Analog, digital, PC-USB supporting MQA, aptX™ and AAC wireless Bluetooth streaming, XLR Balanced and Moving Magnet Phono stage inputs ensures connection to your favorite sources.

The RA-1572MKII is certified Roon Tested delivering the best experience using Roon software so you can just enjoy the music.

The front panel includes a status display, source and volume controls, Speaker A-B selection for Zone 2, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Ethernet and RS232 connections allow seamless integration with control systems and software updates.

Rotel RA-1572MKII — Balanced power and musicality

The Rotel RA-1572MKII pairs robust Class-AB power with a refined, musical presentation that outperforms its price class. Its sonic signature is principally neutral with a touch of warmth: smooth, detailed midrange, sweet highs, tight bass and precise imaging that conveys convincing scale and placement. Reviewers such as Roger Kanno, Ron Nagle and Audiophilepure highlighted its ability to drive efficient floorstanders and ESLs, a punchy headphone output, and a surprisingly capable MM phono stage.

Built on a heavy toroidal transformer and solid aluminum chassis, the RA-1572MKII also offers a high-resolution TI DAC with MQA and Roon-tested USB playback. It’s ideal for listeners who want powerful, classically tuned integrated sound and broad connectivity without built-in network streaming—an excellent value in its segment.

SoundStage! Hi-Fi

"For only $2099, the high-powered Rotel RA-1572MKII offers one of today’s best combinations of price and performance in an integrated amplifier-DAC."

Pros

  • Musical, detailed presentation with a smooth midrange and sweet highs that preserve vocal presence and realism.
  • High output and controlled dynamics (120W/8Ω, 200W/4Ω) that can drive efficient floorstanders and ESLs and deliver punchy headphone performance.
  • Comprehensive connectivity and high-resolution DAC—USB (Class 1/2), coax/optical, XLR, MQA support and Roon-tested playback for flexible high-res sources.
  • Strong built-in MM phono stage that delivers clear, detailed vinyl playback and excellent vocal-harmony resolution.

&

Cons

  • No built-in network streaming (no Wi‑Fi, AirPlay or native streaming); functionality is limited to USB and Bluetooth for networked playback.
  • Digital-encoder volume control lacks detents and tactile reference points, making fine adjustments less intuitive.
  • Occasional sibilance reported on specific vinyl tracks with the built-in phono stage—track-dependent rather than a universal flaw.

Dynamics

90/100

The amp's 120W/8Ω (200W/4Ω) Class-AB output and 300 damping factor deliver authoritative, controlled dynamics — reviewers noted convincing orchestral scale, weighty cello/bass, and punchy, neighbor-waking bass (Positive Feedback, SoundStage Solo). Several reports said it drove efficient floorstanders and ESLs without strain and that headphone output had real punch, supporting a strong dynamics score.

Soundstage Imaging

90/100

Reviewers described precise imaging and convincing placement of voices and instruments, with an engaging sense of depth and an 'optical zoom' effect on some tracks (Positive Feedback, SoundStage Solo). One reviewer noted a very slight shrinkage of soundstage compared with a reference transport/DAC combo, but imaging remained highly focused and realistic.

Build Quality

88/100

The RA-1572MKII is robustly built and relatively heavy (~30 lb) with a satin-finished aluminum case; reviewers called the construction solid and utilitarian (Positive Feedback, SoundStage Solo). No major build or thermal complaints were raised, though the styling was described as functional rather than luxurious.

Features Connectivity

93/100

Well-featured for its class: USB audio (Class 1/2), coax/optical, balanced XLR inputs, MM phono input, headphone amp, preouts and MQA/Roon-tested support and aptX/AAC Bluetooth (Positive Feedback, Audiophilepure, SoundStage Solo). The main omissions are network streaming/Wi‑Fi, AirPlay and native Chromecast support — reviewers noted this limit but praised the high-quality DAC and full MQA support via USB.

Value for Money

93/100

Multiple reviewers explicitly praised the RA-1572MKII as an excellent combination of price and performance at the $2,099 price point, calling it hard to beat in its segment and recommending it strongly (Positive Feedback, Audiophilepure, SoundStage Solo). The consensus is that it delivers high-end features and sound for the money.
