Pure Fidelity Conductor SC
A better foundation for stable rotation
Steady platter rotation is fundamental to vinyl playback. Even minuscule and momentary speed variations can degrade the soundstage and obscure the musical timbre. Pure Fidelity turntables reflect a comprehensive approach to rotational stability, upgraded with the quartz-locked Conductor speed control now included with our turntables.
Quartz crystal precision of ±0.003%. The combination of a quartz crystal reference frequency and microprocessor phase-locked-loop control maintains speed within ±0.003%. Even temperature changes in your listening environment will not affect platter speed.
High precision pitch adjustment.
Because many classic albums pre-date modern speed control, they may have been mastered at speeds slightly higher or lower than 33-1/3 rpm – rendering music slightly sharper or flatter than perfect pitch. The Conductor speed control enables you to compensate for off-speed discs across a range of ±5% in 0.2% steps. Rear panel controls provide separate pitch adjustment for 33-1/3 and 45 rpm discs, with a center detent for easy return to factory calibration.Factory calibration. To assure ultimate rotational accuracy at the pitch adjustment center detent, we calibrate each Conductor SC to each individual turntable.
Achieving clean power.
As the name implies, AC synchronous motors are controlled by the alternating current they are fed. While your household AC mains might be fine for lightbulbs and dishwashers, it’s beset by noise, spikes and distortions – poorly suited to turntable drives. Dirty power degrades motor performance and impairs your listening experience. For this reason, the motor drive voltage is completely isolated from your household mains.WATT RECOMMENDS

Specifications
- Motor Drive
- High-current dual H-bridge motor drive. In preference to single-end drive, the speed control uses a differential technique with dual H-bridge topology. This helps ensure stable operation year after year. Linear dual rail power. Instead of a single rail power supply, separate +ve and -ve rails help lower stress on the circuit and optimize stability.
- Signal Generation
- Pure sinewave generation. Starting with a clean sheet of DC power, the Conductor speed controller uses the quartz crystal oscillator to send a perfect 12-volt AC sinewave to the motor. So the drive signal is exceptionally clean. And rotation is exceptionally smooth.
- Startup
- Soft start up. To maximize the life of the turntable motor, the speed controller sets the platter into motion gently.
- Speed Selection
- Electronic speed selection. Front panel push buttons select On/Off and 33/45 rpm.
- Finishes
- Multiple finishes. The Conductor SC features a brushed aluminum front panel. The version we offer with the Eclipse and Encore turntables has a black powder coated chassis, while the Horizon and Harmony version comes in a choice of three premium chassis finishes: Brushed Silver, Brushed Black and Brushed Black/Silver Faceplate. So whether you want to compliment your plinth or match your other equipment we’ve got you covered.
- Dimensions
- 8.5” wide x 11” deep x 3” high (216 x 279 x 76 mm)
- Weight

- Power Requirements
- 110/120 VAC, 60 Hz or 220/240 VAC 50 Hz
