While we offer Delrin for our turntables due to its exceptional benefits, we understand that some customers may prefer Acrylic, so we provide that option as well. Some manufacturers choose glass platters, believing low mass enhances speed and dynamics. Others opt for aluminum to achieve high mass and stability. However, both materials often require a mat on top to mitigate resonance and ringing. To offer an alternative, we also use Acrylic, an inherently non-resonant material. Acrylic shares similar acoustic properties with vinyl records, allowing the record to sit directly on the platter without a mat. This ensures excellent vibration damping and reduces unwanted resonance. The result is a sound that is clear, detailed, and dynamic, with improved imaging and a balanced frequency response. While Acrylic may not have the same mass as Delrin, it offers a compelling sonic signature that many audiophiles appreciate.
