PMC MB2 SE
This three way model delivers emotion, clarity and phenomenal bass detail.
The MB is the mid-sized model in the SE range and delivers all the emotion and clarity of the IB2 with the ability to resolve even greater bass detail; it can produce low-frequency audio down to a staggering 20Hz with ease. The radically engineered Radial™ bass unit with its immense exo-skeleton offers excellent physical and thermal stability; the cone has a perfect rigid structure, permitting enormous excursions, and the exposed fins act as a heat sink, keeping the coil cool at all times.
A dedicated MB2-C SE centre channel is also available.

The MB2 SE delivers room-shaking, articulate low end and studio-grade midrange clarity thanks to its 12" radial driver and 3m ATL transmission line, with a dedicated soft-dome mid and refined HF ensuring coherent imaging and detail. Its heavy cabinet and monitor-derived design produce a precise, spacious presentation that made it the centerpiece of a carefully tuned listening room noted by StereoNET United Kingdom.
Pros
- Deep, controlled bass from the 12" radial woofer and 3m ATL gives authoritative low-end extension and slam.
- Studio-derived midrange resolution and coherence via the dedicated 75mm soft-dome mid ensures natural vocals and instrumental timbre.
- Robust, monitor-grade build and heavy cabinet make it well suited to tuned listening rooms and professional installations.

Bass
95/100
Large single 12" radial woofer combined with a 3m ATL transmission line and a quoted 20Hz response point to very deep, controlled bass extension and authority. The heavy 58kg cabinet and generous recommended amp power range support taut, well-controlled low end for a reference-capable tower. No third‑party review text provided; score derived from the driver/ATL spec and stated frequency response.
Mid
94/100
Dedicated 75mm soft-dome mid and careful crossover points (380Hz) imply highly resolved, natural midrange and vocal presence typical of PMC designs. The build and driver choice indicate excellent timbral accuracy and coherence through the critical mid/bass crossover region. Score inferred from driver and crossover specifications in absence of external reviews.
Treble
92/100
27mm SONOLEX soft dome HF, ferrofluid-cooled, suggests refined, non‑harsh treble with good microdetail and solid power handling. The stated 25kHz+ upper response supports adequate extension and air without an overtly bright signature. No reviewer excerpts available; judgment based on HF driver spec and PMC voicing tendencies.
Soundstage Imaging
94/100
Transmission-line architecture, carefully sized mid and HF devices, and the SE tuning point toward excellent stereo imaging, precise focus and good depth/ layering. The monitor-derived design and robust cabinet mass should aid stable, well-defined imaging and placement sensitivity that rewards setup. Score inferred from design/specs rather than reviews.
Dynamics
93/100
90dB sensitivity and a recommended amplifier range up to 500W indicate strong headroom and the ability to drive large dynamic swings without strain. The combination of heavy cabinet, ATL, and large woofer supports convincing macro- and micro-dynamic performance. Assessment is speculative from specifications in absence of review comments.

Build Quality
95/100
58kg cabinet weight, multiple premium SE finish options and transmission-line engineering imply excellent cabinet construction, bracing and finish quality. Tri-wire/tri-amp terminals and ferrofluid‑cooled HF suggest high-quality internal components and crossover parts. Score based on listed specs and PMC's known manufacturing approach; no independent build notes provided.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive tower baseline applied (80). The speaker offers 3 pairs of 4mm sockets for tri-wire/tri-amp, which would normally merit a small uplift, but the passive hard bound is retained per scoring rules. No DSP/app or streaming expected or penalized for a passive design.
Value for Money
80/100
Price not provided (N/A), so value is conservatively rated based on high-end construction, reference-capable bass and premium driver complement; explicit value judgment vs peers requires price and reviewer language. Score reflects likely positioning in the high-end segment given specs.
