Ophidian Mojo 2
MOJO 2 features a dual driver layout which allows it to deliver a fuller sound than its smaller counterpart MINIMO.
AEROFLEX technology enables this compact speaker to produce deeper and more controlled bass notes than its size would suggest by reducing port velocity and ensuring the mid-bass unit is properly supported throughout its stroke.
The symmetrical driver layouts of each pair allow the tweeters to be placed either inboard or outboard which provides flexibility in room placement and fine tuning of the stereo image.
A 27mm tweeter with a Sonolex coated fabric diaphragm and low distortion neodymium motor system provides smooth high frequencies without inducing listener fatigue.
The close placement of the tweeter and mid-bass units creates seamless integration through the critical crossover region and lifelike, realistic sound reproduction.
By building the port systems directly into the cabinet structure the outer walls are braced and strengthened minimising panel resonances.

The Mojo 2 punches well above its size with its deep, controlled bass from AEROFLEX porting, a detailed midrange and shimmering treble that deliver lively, precise imaging. Hand-built cabinets and careful crossovers add refinement, and reviewers like Craig Joyce praised its compact, musical presentation — a small speaker that sounds notably big.
Pros
- Surprisingly deep, well-controlled bass for a compact cabinet thanks to the AEROFLEX porting.
- Highly resolving, natural midrange that renders vocals and acoustic instruments with richness and detail.
- Precise, cohesive soundstage and imaging aided by time-aligned driver layout and flexible tweeter placement.

Bass
90/100
Measured to -3dB at 52Hz and fitted with 115mm mid-bass drivers, reviewers repeatedly note surprisingly deep, controlled, and impactful bass for its size. Phrases such as "plenty of bass for its size", "depth and control", and the AEROFLEX porting approach support an exceptional bass performance relative to the cabinet dimensions, though it benefits from a powerful amplifier.
Mid
92/100
The midband is repeatedly described as full-bodied, rich and highly resolving; vocals and acoustic instruments are rendered with natural tonality and fine detail. Review evidence cites "rich, organic tones", "remarkable clarity" and excellent detail resolution that bring nuance and realism to recordings.
Treble
91/100
High frequencies are characterised as clear, precise and shimmering without noted harshness; reviewers highlight airy, ethereal top end and good extension. The treble contributes sparkle and clarity while staying cohesive with the midband.
Soundstage Imaging
92/100
Design choices for tight acoustic-centre alignment and driver layout yield excellent imaging and stereo placement, with reviewers calling the soundstage precise and enveloping. The ability to place tweeters inboard/outboard and time-alignment efforts are cited as tangible benefits to imaging focus and cohesion.
Dynamics
90/100
Reviewers note lively, vibrant dynamics and strong handling of micro- and macro-dynamic swings, including piano and complex passages. The speaker's dynamic expression is described as involving and punchy, though it asks for a capable amp to fully realise headroom.

Build Quality
90/100
Build and finishes (oak, walnut) are praised as very good and attractive; internal components include high-quality Mundorf parts and careful crossover iteration. The cabinet and porting (described as a shortened transmission-line-like design) indicate thoughtful engineering and good craftsmanship.
Features Connectivity
80/100
Passive baseline applied. Standard passive bookshelf configuration with no DSP/app or streaming; reviewers emphasize nominal 4 ohm impedance and 86dB sensitivity, recommending current-capable amplifiers.
Value for Money
80/100
At the listed price (~1400), the Mojo 2 offers strong performance for its size, but reviewers do not explicitly call it a category-defining bargain or compare it directly against clear peers; the need for a powerful amp adds system cost considerations.
