What Reviewers Are Saying
SOUND QUALITY PERFORMANCE 86/100
The available coverage is favorable, with Alpha Audio finding that the Twin Amp Ultra can usefully elevate a turntable's sound. Measured MM performance also points to a notably clean output, although the reviews provide limited detail on its dynamic and spatial character.
Transparency Noise Floor
89/100
avmentor's MM measurement found an impressively clean harmonic spectrum, with all reported harmonics below -100dBr. That result supports low-distortion, clear playback; however, the review excerpts do not specifically discuss hum or hiss with a cartridge connected.
Tonal Balance Musicality
86/100
Alpha Audio says the Twin Amp Ultra fits the role of elevating a turntable's sound nicely, indicating a pleasing overall listening result. The available reviews do not offer more specific descriptions of warmth, neutrality, timbre, or long-term tonal balance.
Dynamics
85/100
Alpha Audio's positive overall assessment suggests the preamp makes a worthwhile contribution to vinyl playback. The excerpts say little directly about transient attack, punch, microdynamics, or rhythmic drive.
Soundstage Imaging
85/100
The review coverage is positive about the Twin Amp Ultra's contribution to turntable sound overall. There is little direct commentary on soundstage width, depth, image focus, or layering.
Assessments of Build Quality, Usability, and Overall Propositions.
Cartridge Compatibility
80/100
The Twin Amp Ultra accommodates both MM and MC cartridges, with stated input impedances of 47kOhm for MM and 100 Ohm for MC. This makes it suitable for common cartridge types, though the supplied information does not indicate user-adjustable gain, resistance, or capacitance loading.
Build Quality
84/100
A separate power supply is a welcome part of the design and can help keep mains-related interference away from the sensitive phono circuitry. The reviews say little about chassis construction, internal layout, shielding, connectors, or long-term durability.
Value for Money
91/100
At €399, the Twin Amp Ultra is described by Alpha Audio as having an attractively affordable price tag. The separate power supply and MM/MC capability strengthen its appeal in this price class, although the available excerpts do not include direct comparisons with competing models.
