This new version of our 1980s design is a 3-way speaker in a very compact enclosure

(220x220x180 mm )

It can be bi-amped and includes an upgraded version of the bespoke midrange driver originally designed by Philippe LESAGE, then Technical Director of AUDAX.

The cabinet design is inspired by the original SAT but with a more modern look and made of 18mm birch plywood from Finland.

This newer Signature version incorporates an all Mundorf components crossover, providing significant improvement over our standard SAT MK2, in terms of bass extension, midrange clarity, lower distortion and better slew rate.

It is manufactured in Sydney, Australia and ready to ship with a 6 weeks delivery time.

Only 100 numbered pairs will be manufactured, so reserve yours today by paying a 50% deposit.

Once you have paid this deposit, we will commence manufacture of your very own pair of these amazing minuscule speakers.

You will then be asked to provide final payment before we ship them to you to enjoy, about 4 to 6 weeks after receipt of your deposit.

Deliciously Crispy

Remarkably accurate midrange defines the SAT MK2 Signature, delivering vocals with striking clarity and a focused, three‑dimensional soundstage. Its tiny cabinet yields surprisingly punchy bass and imaging, while the VIFA tweeter supplies crystalline treble and the design emphasises accurate mids and a compact footprint. Reviewers Vedran Simunovic and News Editor applaud its refinement.

SoundStage Solo

"The result was immediately amazing and actually an improvement on the original driver."

Pros

  • Exceptionally accurate, revealing midrange that renders vocals and tonal detail with authority.
  • Compact cabinet delivers surprisingly punchy bass and precise, three-dimensional imaging for its size.
  • Premium construction and inert marine-grade plywood enclosure with a well-engineered crossover for low coloration.

&

Cons

  • Requires a powerful, high-current amplifier—low/hard-to-drive impedance at higher frequencies can tax weaker amps.
  • Limited deep-bass extension below ~70 Hz; many listeners will benefit from a subwoofer or careful placement away from boundaries.

Sound Quality

91/100

Bass

89/100

Rear-firing 160mm aluminium dome woofer gives surprising vigour and punch above ~70 Hz for a very small cabinet, but extension below ~70 Hz is limited and the speaker benefits from a subwoofer; placement against a bookcase can produce boom (reviews note 'punchy bass' yet 'needs a sub' for deeper extension).

Mid

93/100

Multiple reviewers praise exceptionally accurate, neutral mids that expose chain deficiencies and deliver highly engaging vocals (e.g., Ana Moura, Paul Young); slight 'oboe' tint noted but overall very detailed and authoritative in the midband.

Treble

89/100

Crystalline, detailed treble and fast transients (VIFA soft dome tweeter integration praised) but occasionally bright on violins/upper range; impedance dips above ~6–10.5 kHz and reviewer recommended slight HF adjustments and powerful, low-feedback amplifiers to tame tweeter drive.

Soundstage Imaging

92/100

Produces a well-focused, three-dimensional soundstage that resolves multiple instruments (resolved three guitars onstage) and is relatively tolerant of placement, with good depth and image focus though much of the presentation remains between the speakers.

Dynamics

91/100

Excellent micro- and macro-dynamics—reviewers report lively, punchy performance on jazz and convincing choral walls of sound—but dynamics are amplifier-dependent: Signatures 'need power, crave power' and perform best with high-current amplifiers.

Build Quality

94/100

High-end construction: marine-grade birch/marine plywood cabinet with clear lacquer, 'dead' acoustically, quality crossover parts (Mundorf) and attractive finish; cabinet and driver choices convey premium craftsmanship.

Features Connectivity

80/100

Passive baseline applied. Specified 89 dB sensitivity and nominal 4 ohms; no bi-wire/extra connectivity options reported.

Value for Money

80/100

Signature price AU$3,500 (reviewer: 'price reflects their quality') — excellent performance for a compact design but requires a high-quality, powerful amplifier and possibly a sub/speaker-stands (added cost), so value is good but not a bargain.
