Offering 200 Watts per channel and 14 total inputs, the space-saving MA7200 Integrated Amplifier can easily become the core of your 2-channel home audio system.
Making up its 15 inputs are 8 analog connections (5 unbalanced, 1 balanced and 1 each of Moving Coil and Moving Magnet inputs for turntables) along with 7 digital (2 each of coaxial and optical plus 1 USB, 1 proprietary MCT for use with our MCT500 SACD/CD Transport, and 1 audio-only HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) connection). The digital inputs are housed in our DA2 Digital Audio Module, which can easily be replaced by future modules to keep your MA7200 current with the latest digital audio technologies.
The DA2 comes with an 8-channel, 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) used in Quad Balanced mode. The USB input accepts PCM signals up to 32-bit/384kHz and supports up to DSD512 and DXD 384kHz for high resolution audio playback, while the coax and optical inputs will decode music up to 24-bit/192kHz. All inputs can be given custom names for user-friendly system control and configuration.
The MA7200 includes our Monogrammed Heatsinks which are so efficient at dissipating heat that they warrant bearing the McIntosh “Mc” logo. They are connected to advanced high current output transistors that eliminate warm-up time so you can enjoy the MA7200’s full sonic capabilities from the moment you turn it on. The MA7200 is full of other McIntosh technologies including Autoformers to deliver the full 200 Watts to each of your speakers regardless of their impedance, Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, Home Theater PassThru, bass and treble tone controls, High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD), and gold-plated speaker binding posts.
The MA7200 is one of many McIntosh products to receive Roon Tested designation from Roon Labs. As a Roon Tested partner, McIntosh has provided equipment to Roon for testing with a variety of different operating systems and computers, and shared information about its design and capabilities.
The entire unit is wrapped in the timeless McIntosh appearance with blue watt meters, a black glass front panel with aluminum end caps, control knobs and illuminated logo. Contact your local dealer to learn more.
MA7200 is not available in the US and Canada. (US and Canada please see the MAC7200 Receiver.)

Dynamics
92/100
As a 200 W Class AB design the MA7200 sits in the high-power Class AB band and reviewers note it delivers that power effortlessly and regardless of speaker impedance thanks to its autoformers ('delivers its considerable 200 watt output ... regardless of the impedance'). Comments about being ‘capable of great things’ and not sounding strained support an excellent dynamics score.
Soundstage Imaging
91/100
Multiple reviewers highlight scale, space and secure imaging: the amp recreates both intimate vocals and full orchestras believably and anchors performers with good focus ('anchors Matt Hegerty in the middle', 'gives everyone and everything the space it needs'). The presentation is described as spacious and well-layered.

Build Quality
94/100
Build and finish receive very strong praise: 'beautifully made', perfectly weighted controls, monogrammed heatsinks and accurate VU meters; reviewers emphasize careful assembly and a beefy construction. The chassis, meters and heavy weight (75 lbs) reinforce an impression of premium engineering and craftsmanship.
Features Connectivity
95/100
Extremely well featured: high-quality multi-channel DAC (32-bit/384kHz quad balanced), MM and MC phono with adjustable loading, XLR balanced input, multiple digital inputs including USB (384kHz/DSD), HDMI-ARC option via upgrade, headphone output with HXD and home-theater passthrough. The combination of a top-tier DAC, full analog/digital inputs, phono stage and ARC capability places it at the fully-featured end of the spectrum.
Value for Money
83/100
Reviewers note this is not a value bargain ('It would be foolish to describe the MA7200 as "good value"') but frequently qualify that by pointing to where the money has gone (build, features, performance). Overall sentiment is that it’s a premium-priced, well-executed product rather than a price standout, so a slight reservation on value is reflected.
