M&K Sound X10+ Subwoofer
The most advanced subwoofers technologies for the future
New Carbon Fibre Woofer Cones have been developed for all models with ultra-high strength and rigidity to accommodate the added power and excursion of the new X Series. M&K Sound’s proprietary CNC-machined, extruded aluminium Distortion Killer Shorting Rings also guarantee absolute control and distortion-free, exemplary performance in all settings.
M&K Sound’s iconic Push-Pull subwoofer architecture and “reversed double driver” non-isobaric configuration mean that both drivers in the cabinet are ‘exposed’ to room air. Consequently, and like the X-Series before, the X Series models are effectively two subwoofers in one cabinet enabling a further associated reduction in distortion. This is made possible by having one inverted driver in relation to the other cancelling non-linearities to produce totally symmetric waveforms.
The X15, X12 and X10 all feature full 25mm MDF construction and bracing for negligible panel vibrations or cabinet resonances, and increased venting at the base of the woofers mitigates distortion due to air turbulence. These milled cavities also act as convenient carrying handles for installation efficiency
Cosmetic makeovers for the X Series arrive in the form of recessed front baffles and convenient invisible magnetic grille attachment mechanisms. Harmonizing with the bold but Scandi-cool looks of the M&K S150 and S300 speakers, the new subwoofers offer cleaner lines and more discreet curved edges to complement living spaces or dedicated home cinema rooms
A Message from the Inventors of the Subwoofer
“Creating the next generation of M&K Sound subwoofers was not something we undertook lightly. With a long legacy of market-leading innovation to live up to, we are proud to present the M&K Sound X Series, built to bring new force, authority and clarity to the critical bottom octaves for the listening pleasure of serious music and movie lovers everywhere.”
Why Your system Needs an M&K Sound X+ Series Subwoofer
Above and beyond the obvious, simplistic answer: “more and better bass”, the combination of a well designed and conscientiously constructed subwoofer and main satellite speakers offers worthwhile performance advantages that improve overall system performance in many critical areas that are equally relevant for stereo and surround, for movie viewing and music listening
Here’s what happens when you physically separate reproduction of low frequency information from the upper and mid ranges. The most widely acknowledged beneft, of course, is improved deep bass extension, higher deep bass output levels and more control and authority, i.e., your system will play deeper, louder, cleaner, tighter bass.
With an M&K Sound X Series subwoofer, bass is exclusively reproduced by a speaker created and optimized for that purpose only. Removing the burden of deep bass from your main speakers provides major improvements in essential parameters such as midrange purity and accuracy. By liberating your main speakers from handling the tremendous demands of low bass, you also increase their effective power handling capabilities signifcantly, so that they can play louder without distortion.
Because your main amplifer no longer handles deep bass, the amount of power needed to achieve a given output level from your main speakers is greatly reduced (typically -50%). This ensures that your amp remains well within its safe operating limits with considerable overhead readily available as needed. Independent placement of subwoofer and satellites allows you to select an optimal position for each specifc frequency range. The spot that delivers best bass is almost never the one that also delivers best upper/mid performance. With no bass vibrations or internal bass pressure waves in your main speaker enclosures, resonances are eliminated for cleaner, clearer mid and high frequencies.
Since they no longer have to reproduce deep bass, your main speaker cabinets can be more compact with enhanced structural integrity for natural, uncolored sound and a narrow front that eliminates baffle diffraction distortion, resulting in more open, natural, three-dimensional sound.
No matter what some manufacturers may try to tell you, according to the immutable laws of physics: Big bass requires a big box.
Independent Evaluation
THX is a set of performance standards originally developed by Lucasfilm Ltd, the movie empire of Star Wars creator George Lucas, to lay out a set of criteria to ensure that the creations of cinematic artists are reproduced exactly as intended. The THX logo immediately became recognized as a seal of approval for quality-conscious cinema-goers around the world.
In 1991, M&K SOUND became one of the first manufacturers to join George Lucas and his Lucasfilm Home THX program for domestic installations.
Today, THX is the highest independent quality standard dedicated to the accurate reproduction of audio sources in the home. THX certification attests that the component has been thoroughly evaluated by a fully independent body and found to live up to the strictest quality requirements in the audio industry.
M&K SOUND X Series subwoofers meet and exceed THX specifications to deliver music and movies with natural, effortless realism and power.

The M&K X10+ pairs deep extension and tight control with surprisingly explosive dynamics, delivering room-reaching bass to 20 Hz, clean decay, and a seamless blend with mains—qualities noted by Neil Gader and The Absolute Sound, making it a reference-grade, studio-minded sub that favors speed, authority, and integration, and precise imaging, over warm coloration.
Pros
- Extends cleanly to 20 Hz with controlled decay and minimal mid/upper-bass hump, driven by dual long-stroke push/pull woofers in a sealed design.
- Seamless integration with mains—no subwoofer localization or frequency holes—producing a cohesive sub/sat soundfield.
- Rock-solid build and low-resonance cabinet construction, with heavily braced enclosures and robust driver engineering.
- Pro-level features and connectivity: THX certification, switchable LFE/THX/MK EQ modes, and both RCA and XLR I/O for flexible setup.
&
Cons
- A cooler, slightly forward midrange/clinical balance may not satisfy listeners seeking a warmer, more romantic tonal character.
- Soundstage depth and overall dimensionality were described as about average for the reviewer.
- Low-bass energy can excite floor resonances on older raised wooden floors, so decouplers or careful placement may be required.

Bass
92/100
Dual long-stroke 10" push-pull drivers in a sealed enclosure deliver deep, controlled output to 20 Hz. Reviewer notes 'no unfortunate mid- or upper-bass humps' and equivalent surface area to a single 15", emphasizing extension, control, and clean decay.
Dynamics
91/100
Reviewer praised 'high-impact dynamics, speed, foundational weight, and superb resolution.' The sealed, controlled design and headroom limiter are cited as contributing to transient speed and low-frequency articulation.

Integration
94/100
Review outcome language describes 'No subwoofer localization, zero holes in frequency response' and 'consistent quality of control and timing,' indicating the sub blends seamlessly with mains and avoids obvious overhang or gaps.
Build Quality
94/100
Described as 'rock solid' with 'heavily braced MDF' and an 'impeccable' finish; enclosure testing yielded 'little to nothing' in the way of resonances, indicating very high cabinet and driver construction quality.
Features Connectivity
90/100
THX certification, switchable LFE, THX/MK EQ modes, RCA and XLR I/O, and a built-in headroom limiter give strong setup flexibility and professional connectivity; reviewer lists a 'bevy of two-channel or LFE cinema settings.'
Value for Money
85/100
Positioned as a premium pro/studio-grade sub; reviewer notes total system cost and calls it attainable, suggesting good value for buyers seeking reference-level control and timing despite a high price positioning.
